Last week, we turned back the clock at Clerkenwell Design Week with Rewind ‘86 — celebrating 40 years of UK manufacturing.
From bold 80s patterns and nostalgic design references to music, memorabilia and a few iconic outfits, the showroom became a space to reflect on where we started — and how far we’ve come.
More importantly, it was a chance to thank the people who have been part of that journey. It was great to welcome so many customers, partners and friends to celebrate with us.
Four decades of manufacturing in the UK is something we’re incredibly proud of — and it continues to shape how we design, make and innovate today.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and made it such a memorable few days.

Think you can spot the difference?
We challenged our Clerkenwell Design Week visitors to look twice at our reuse carpet tile display in collaboration with Welltek, ORAK and ReCarpet.
Reused carpet tiles can sit seamlessly alongside new – without disrupting design, quality or performance.
Through Milliken’s N/XT Life programme, we support extending product life and reducing the need for new materials, helping projects move towards their environmental goals.
Look closely.
Can you tell the difference?

Pattern Play - Design Guild Mark
A proud moment for Milliken.
At a ceremony held on 19 May 2026, this year’s recipients of the prestigious Design Guild Awards were announced, with Milliken proud to be among them. Andrew Tanner, Head of Design at Habitat, presented the award to Milliken designer Helen Lloyd for Milliken’s carpet tile collection, Pattern Play.
Pattern Play was further recognised with the Jonathan Hindle Prize for Interior Design Elements, presented by Jonathan Hindle himself.
Alex Crofts, Chairman at the Design Guild Mark said: “The panel of experts thought that this was an extremely refreshing and well developed collection which took the traditional carpet tile forward from an evolutionary aspect with real potential to be introduced to far wider markets.”
Originally launched at Clerkenwell Design Week 2025, this vibrant floor tile collection – designed by Helen Lloyd, in collaboration with the Milliken UK design team in Wigan – celebrates the spirit of the New London Fabulous Movement, championing joy, diversity, and creativity.
Helen Lloyd, Senior Creative Designer at Milliken Floors commented: "I am extremely proud to have received a Design Guild Mark Award for the Pattern Play Collection. It was a genuinely rewarding collection to develop, and this recognition means a great deal to everyone at Milliken. Bringing the collection to market was a real team effort, and it wouldn’t have been possible without the creativity, expertise and support of the wider team who helped make it such a success. Being both designed and manufactured in Great Britain makes the award even more meaningful, reflecting our ongoing commitment to delivering high‑quality products for our customers. We are also honoured to be recognised alongside the outstanding standards represented by the Design Guild Mark, which celebrates the very best in British design.”
Following its debut last year, Pattern Play was also awarded a 2025 CDW Product Award. To now see the collection recognised by the Design Guild Mark further reinforces its impact and design excellence.
Bringing together pattern, colour and texture, Pattern Play showcases what Milliken does best - combining creative ambition with advanced manufacturing to deliver distinctive, design-led flooring solutions.
