This is the friendly forum for mums and dads living in NW8. The NW8-mums website was set up to help bring together parents in the NW8 (and surrounding) area. I quit a decade in investment banking to be a lunch lady. Hear me out: the food we feed kids would be unacceptable if served to adults. So we fixed it.

I’m Mulu, co-founder and CEO of V&Me. We cook fresh meals every day for children and deliver them across London to families, nurseries and schools. Properly sourced, freshly cooked, genuinely nutritious - made every morning and on your doorstep the same day.

I’ve collected many letters after my name but what makes me the proudest is when my three boys order off the adult menu 🍽️

Meet our newest Mumpreneur!

Hi everyone. My name is Alex, I’m originally from Serbia and a proud mom of three beautiful children.

Over the years I’ve worn many creative hats — I’m a photographer, author of 14 travel books, and most passionately, the founder and designer behind my jewelry brand, LYA Soul Jewelry.

LYA stands for “Love Yourself Always,” and my collections are all about helping women feel confident, feminine, powerful and connected to their inner goddess through unique statement jewelry pieces such as body chains, chokers, hand chains and earrings.

I’m also very excited to be starting a new journey with Korean skincare brand Riman, which focuses on natural beauty, glowing skin and wellness from within.

I would absolutely love to offer complimentary facials for anyone who would like to try the products, relax, and experience the skincare firsthand. I’m also looking to connect with open-minded women who may be interested in the business opportunity side and becoming business partners as the brand grows internationally.

Looking forward to meeting you all and supporting each other 💕

We are delighted to introduce you to our latest mum-preneur and you can read more about her below.

Hi, I’m Filsane Gure, Co-Founder of Nanny’s Intuition, a holistic nanny agency in London. I founded the agency after realising that while many parents prioritise qualifications, true success in a nanny placement comes down to a genuine connection between the parent, the child and the nanny as much as experience.

Nanny’s Intuition focuses on securing accomplished nannies, maternity nurses, doulas and governesses, who are attuned to your family’s dynamics, enrichment, and aspirations.

Our rigorous yet intuitive vetting process removes concerns around safety, and competence offering genuine peace of mind. We are committed to continuity of care from conception to teenage-hood, through our follow ups and hub of wellness professionals.

Hi, I’m Shauravi 👋 Mum of two, and co-founder of .

My friend Meghana and I started Slurrp Farm about ten years ago. We both had young children. And found ourselves becoming label readers like all moms! Picking up and
sometimes putting back things in supermarket aisles that didn’t pass muster.

We’d both grown up eating such a diverse range of millets (sorghum, finger millets, foxtail millet). Supergrains that our grandmothers cooked with every day. High in protein, rich in
fibre, full of iron and calcium. Also amongst the most climate-friendly crops on the planet! They need almost no water and thrive without pesticides and chemicals. And yet, over time
they’d disappeared from most of our kitchens. It made us ask ourselves — why aren’t our kids eating these?

So we started making food with them. Millet pancakes were one of the very first things we launched — with finger millet aka ragi and they were a hit from the start. From the reality of
frantic weekday mornings. Of wanting to be able to say “yes” when your kids ask for pancakes, without forsaking whole grains.

Through this, the toughest critics have always been our own children! If it isn’t delicious, it doesn’t make it to the shelf, because it will just sit at the back of yours.

We’d love for you to try what we make. Slurrp Farm is available on Amazon UK, please do share the word and let us know what you and your children think!

Phileas Fox Multilingual Nursery School is tucked into St Mary’s Square in Little Venice — and if you haven’t come across it yet, swipe through the carousel above because it really is something special.

What makes it different is the languages. Children here don’t just have a weekly French or Mandarin class — they live it, every single day, from age one. Native-speaking teachers weave the language into every song, every story, every moment of the day. You choose Mandarin, French or Russian alongside English, and over time it simply becomes part of how your child sees the world. The research on early language learning is extraordinary — and Phileas Fox is one of the very few nurseries in London doing this properly.

But honestly, the languages are just the beginning. The building itself is beautiful — a standalone Victorian property with high-ceilinged, light-filled classrooms and one of Central London’s largest private outdoor playgrounds. Children are outside every single day, whatever the weather. Organic hot lunches are prepared fresh daily by award-winning caterers. And the team — qualified, experienced, native language speakers — are the kind of people you immediately feel good about leaving your child with. Children feel at home away from home and greatly enjoy their time before progressing to top schools.
