Basal cell carcinoma or BCC. The most common malignancy found in humans.

BCCs are easily the most common entity I’ve seen during my pathology training so far. I personally love how straight forward they tend to be. You can often tell you’re going to have a BCC by just looking at the slide without the microscope. They can be sneaky though!

As a mum and wife of gingers as well as a doctor, wear your SPF!🧴

It has been awhile, so thank you to those of you that have stuck around. I have officially traded in my stethoscope for the microscope as I leave foundation training behind for my future career as a histopathologist.

I hope to be more active on here as I go through my speciality training, and to use it as a study aid myself.

AML - Acute myeloid leukaemia 🩸 An introduction including presenting features, risk factors and initial investigations. Whenever AML is suspected, these patients need urgent admission for investigations and typically urgent chemotherapy.
