Maestro Carlos Cruz-Diez passed away this Saturday at age 95, leaving a legacy of Kinetic art, of hard work, and multiple generations of artists and people who will follow his example of passion, technique and hard work. The objective of art is to transcend. Tapestry. Luis Montiel Jarariyuu, 1970s. Private Collection. Luis Montiel, the greatest Guajiro artisan was known as the Genius of Tapestry (1914-1998). At some point during his career had more than 150 artisans working at his Mali-Mai studio.

Yesterday we opened the exhibit Liberation: Art from Venezuela at the Bath House Cultural Center. Glad to see our visitors enjoying the works from these talented artists. Open until September 29th, with works from Dina Atencio, Luis Cuevas, Oscar Casanova Niño, José León - Lionmix, Maira Reverol y Carlos Ramos.
