Looking for a French tutor?

I’ve found one. Lynda helps children from primary school all the way to A level with speaking, listening, reading and writing, keeping a strong focus on grammar and accurate expression.
She has had great success helping pupils in one-to-one lessons as they approach Common Entrance, scholarship exams, GCSE and A level.

In a digital age, neat, legible handwriting still matters enormously. It’s strengthens literacy, supports memory, and in exams can make the difference between marks gained and marks lost. Handwriting when taught well become becomes more than a skill. It becomes a quiet academic advantage.

The Riva degli Schiavoni in Venice:
Vessels moored in the lagoon, luminous buildings, and the distant tower of San Marco.

This quietly magnificent view was painted by Giovanni Antonio Canal β€” better known as Canaletto β€” and today hangs above the chimneypiece in the Picture Room at Sir John Soane’s Museum.

πŸ›οΈ Sir John Soane (1753–1837) was one of the great architects of the Regency era: Professor of Architecture at the Royal Academy, designer of the Bank of England and Dulwich Picture Gallery, and a tireless collector of paintings, fragments, models, books and drawings.

In 1833, Soane secured a private Act of Parliament ensuring that his house β€” and everything within it β€” would be preserved exactly as arranged at the time of his death, open to the public, free, and held in trust for inspiration and education forever.

This is a gift. We should all visit! 😊

Talking to Churchill on Bond Street.

Born on this day in 1874 – Winston Churchill, one of Britain’s most iconic leaders.

The bronze sculpture β€œAllies” celebrates the friendship between Churchill and President Roosevelt during WWII.
