The Lockheed U-2 Dragon Lady frequently operates out of Royal Air Force Fairford in Gloucestershire, England on reconnaissance missions for the US Air Force who have a detachment of the 99th Reconnaissance Squadron based here. The aircraft are all home-based at Beele Air Force Base in California.
The reconnaissance platform has been flying since the 1950s and is arguably one of the hardest planes to fly, at heights over 70,000'. It's been due for retirement for a while now but upgrades to the vehicle are still underway.
