On 6 May, a team from Danone rolled up their sleeves at Mereway Nature Park in Twickenham.

Working alongside the Friends of Meadway Orchard, the team spent the morning tackling bramble clearance around a newly planted riverside orchard, preparing woodchip paths, and tending to a sensory garden — all at a live river restoration site along the Crane Vally.

It was a brilliant morning of hands-on conservation, community connection, and fresh air — the kind of team day that leaves a real mark on the landscape.

A fantastic family learning at The Copse in Ham today. We learnt about different folklore creatures found in nature and decorated fairy doors and mini plant pots too. Great work by everyone who joined us.

Do you remember the pond the Friends of Meadway Orchard were building with us last Summer? Have a look at it now! Isn't it exciting to see how it's taken shape? We have been and will continue laying down and planting in coir to finish off the edges. Coir is made from coconuts and covers the pond liner and provides a secure spot for the plants to grow in. We have planted a mixture of different species to support a varied habitat and to help oxygenate the water. Over the last few months we have seen more wildlife visiting the pond including birds, insects and this frog (the great froggy photo taken by one of the Friends of Meadway Orchard volunteers).

Feel free to join us for the Friends of Meadway Orchard sessions every Wednesday from 10:45am-2pm.
