This Marshall footswitch had a single stereo jack plug. No LED's either. It couldn't connect with a Marshall DSL 100 head as it needed two jack plugs, one for the channel and one for the reverb. So I drilled and installed two LED's and holders with their resistors. I then cut off the stereo jack plug, made an aluminium polished tube outer casing, incasing a plastic tube to encase the soldered two new colour coded mono jack plugs with their short cables onto the single stereo cable. The inner plasic tube was then filled solid with hot glue, I then used techflex armouring to protect the whole thing. It is tour and tank proof.

This poor guitar born in 1978 was left in a case for many years, possibly decades. Its paint was flaking off, all metal parts were corroded, green and flaking, some body damage where something was sitting or dropped on the case with the guitar inside pushed on and into the k***s and cracked the top of the body. Was like digging up a pirates guitar. Was in a very poor state.
its owner wasn't in any hurry and thought it was heading for the fireplace, so I took my time with this beauty, complete strip down, and extreme cleaning and a half, after a while of soaking in wd40, scrubbed, fine polished and cleaned, all the metal parts were shining again, the frets were shining and smooth as could be without replacing the frets, the neck was adjusted and matted on the back to make playing nice and fast, the pickups I wax dipped as they were extremely noisy and extremely microphonic. The flaking paint on the sides of the body were so bad, as the guitar was adjusting to being out of its slightly damp case, the wood dried, and the paint wasn't even attached or touching the bodys wood sides. It was flying off in shards everytime I touched the body. With ease it all just came off in a minute or so, I thought that a respray was over the top and would lose the guitars character, so I exposed the old Mahogony and oiled and waxed and polished the sides, something a bit different. Rewired all the wiring loom, new solder without the corrosion, cleaned and lubed all the pots, switch and jack socket. Also expirimented and shieled the inside with simple foil to help reject some noise further. Seemed to work a treat. The waxed pickups, with the shieldng made this guitar reject noise almost as much as a modern guitar. This guitar turned out to not just be playable again, but an actual real character indeed. The pots were only availible on this guitar, as with its highly sought after Super70's pickups. A very nice treat to work with. Felt very attached to this guitar as I restored it back into a new century.

I don't need to say its quite the special guitar, it was a real pleasure to sort out so intimately.
This guitar, being coated in your usual Gibson favourite - nitrocellulose lacquer means that most things on Earth seem to react with the stuff. This Explorer had been hanging over a mantelpiece for some time, unknown to the owner that the rubber from the guitar stand had in fact bonded with the nitrocellulose lacquer. This was indeed the owners main worry as the reaction had eaten into the guitars finish. He was in a panic about how to deal or treat it. I was only happy to take my best shot at this. Besides that, I couldn't help but to overhaul the entire thing into its rightful beauty. By the end of this Explorers visit, I had also almost mastered dent and scratch removal. The wood finish had got to a mirror like reflective glassy wet looking state. Gibson did leave some horrible sharp edges on their frets in which i dealt with by customizing one of my tools for the job. I'm sure you'll notice the gold plated hardware care gone into action too. If you've never played on one of these, you're in for a right shock. It actually demands that you shred and Djun on her like Sepultura on speed. Whilst not my cup of tea, I was blown away at the sheer inspiration a guitar can give you. Guitars can teach old dogs new tricks indeed. And I loved it like joyriding in a high quality very fast car.

I made a spung electronic device that when you put your finger inside of the slide it makes a contact and turns on a red LED.

Every now and again a guitar has to sacrifced. These sacrifices must be prepped in such a way as to keep the good and useful parts as either trophies or useful parts. Nothing to do with them being the expensive parts. I take cheap guitars, add a ton of Dan magic to make em feel great, use one expensive part to make em sound great, make that part easily stripable, and the rest smashable. I can also asthetically make guitars look a similar likeness to other guitars.

A fairly new bass, somehow had some pot problems and some battery connection problems. Didn't take long to sort these out. Like new. Like it should be.

This turbo Tube Screamer had its battery clip wire snapped. I ended up replacing the whole clip onto the chip board and making my own stronger version. Ots cleaned and lubed, the tooth brush worked quite well on it too. Almost got it shiny.

New jack, again, this time, new section of cable needed attaching to to the actual can. Next time I'm prepared with a female socket for the can! ha ha ha! ;-)

Had a few pickups out of guitars, though id try some in an Ibanez T42 to hear how they compared. Unfortunalty, I can't find photos of the front of the guitar as of yet. Good at fixing guitars, rubbish at taking and locating photos of them. When i find thopse photos....
