The Archbishop Lanfranc Academy - TALA

We are bursting with pride after an incredible day out with our Year 9 and Year 10 students at City, St George's University!

Our brilliant young scholars officially graduated from The Scholar's Programme, part of the Brilliant Club, after weeks of hard work, curiosity and academic challenge, championing our TALA Value of Aspiration!

This fantastic opportunity has given our students a taste of university-style learning, helping them grow confidence in research skills, and inspired them to think deeper and aim higher! From tackling real university assignments to exploring a campus environment, they truly rose to the challenge.

A huge congratulations to all of our students who took part in the programme - your dedication and passion made us so proud! A massive thank you to the Brilliant Club and City, St George's University for hosting such an empowering experience for our young learner. We can't wait to see what you all do next!

Last week, The Archbishop Lanfranc Academy (Team TALA) was buzzing with ambition, curiosity and possibility as we proudly hosted our best Careers’ Faire to date — and what an unforgettable day it was!

We welcomed 30 different businesses, industries and professionals through our doors, all coming together with one shared purpose: to inspire our young people and show them what’s possible.

From the Ministry of Defence, to global accounting firms BDO and Deloitte, from the creative world of DJing and children’s book writing, to the high-end fashion brand Reiss, and the marketing and packaging companies working with Estée Lauder and Clinique, to the key workers of our society — our students were exposed to an incredible range of careers and pathways. And that’s exactly how it should be.

Over 750 students, from Year 7 right through to Year 11, had the opportunity to:
💬 Speak confidently with professionals
❓ Ask questions and challenge assumptions
🌍 Learn about real career journeys from people of all backgrounds
🚀 Imagine futures they may never have considered before

This wasn’t about telling students what they should do — it was about showing them what they could do.
