Spring for those growing their own!

This morning’s crop of zucchini flowers - good enough to eat!

A period worm re-location has begun. When my hotbin composter gets to a high temperature, the worms come to the top to try to escape the heat. Instead of leaving them there to die, I relocate them in parts of my garden. Now they can live and enrich the soil in my garden.

Such a delightful time of year in my garden.

I froze many of the apples from my tree in September. This allows me to defrost them months later and still make my amazing apple cake with home grown apples.

Thais week I have been harvesting & processing home grown apples. Some have been frozen and for a local event on Friday I am making an Italian apple cake.

Not been a great year for lots of veg I usually grow but my berries have been fab! Tonight’s fruit salad included own grown blueberries, raspberries & black currants as well as edible pansies😘

Mange tout are one of the most beautiful vegetables to grow. They look very much like ornamental sweet peas but you get your eat the pods.

With deconstructed cannoli there is no chance that the shells will go soggy.
And you can more easily prepare them to suit the needs of your guests. Pistachios were sprinkled on top of most but extra chocolate bits were substituted for the person who has a nut allergy.
