Our Reception children have been working hard on their independent writing! ๐Ÿ“šโœ๏ธ

They were challenged to retell Eric Carle's beloved story, Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? and did a fantastic job recalling the sequence of events and characters. The children wrote some wonderful sentences independently and showed great confidence in their writing skills.

We were especially impressed with how they were able to self-edit their work, checking their writing and making improvements all by themselves. What super writers they are! ๐ŸŒŸ

Well done, Reception! We are so proud of your hard work and enthusiasm for writing. ๐Ÿปโค๏ธ

Look who's taking flight! ๐Ÿฆœ

One of the highlights of our Teaching Talons workshop was watching Albert the parrot fly across the classroom. The Year 1 children were amazed to see his incredible wings in action and learn more about how birds fly.

It was a wonderful hands-on learning experience that brought our topic to life and created memories our children will be talking about for a long time!

What a special visitor we had at school! ๐Ÿฆœ

As part of their fantastic workshop, Teaching Talons introduced our Year 1 children to Albert the parrot.

In this video, Albert proudly tells us his name and shows off his beautiful wings!

The children were fascinated by learning about birds, their habitats and how they are cared for. Thank you to Teaching Talons for such an engaging and memorable experience.

๐Ÿบโœจ Year 3 enjoyed a fascinating trip to the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge as part of their Ancient Egypt topic! ๐Ÿบโœจ

The children explored a range of incredible Egyptian artefacts, bringing their classroom learning to life as they discovered more about the beliefs, culture and daily lives of people who lived thousands of years ago. ๐Ÿ“œ๐Ÿ”

They were full of curiosity, asked thoughtful questions and represented the school wonderfully throughout the visit. โญ๐Ÿ‘

A big thank you to the museum staff, our staff and all those who volunteered to help for making the day so engaging and memorable. ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ˜Š

โœจ Magic was in the air when Chip visited our Year 1 children as part of the Teaching Talons workshop! ๐Ÿพ

Armed with their imaginary magic wands, the children pointed at Chip, said the magic words, andโ€” abracadabra!โ€”he dropped to the floor and froze completely still! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

But the magic didn't stop there. With another special spell, Chip sprang back to life, delighting everyone with his clever trick and leaving lots of smiling faces behind.

What a fantastic way to learn about animals and see just how talented our furry visitors can be!

๐Ÿš’ Who can get dressed the fastest? ๐Ÿš’

One of the highlights of our visit from Luton Fire Brigade was a challenge between Miss Hussain and Billie-Rae to see who could put on the firefighter uniform the quickest!

With the children cheering enthusiastically from the sidelines, Billie-Rae raced to victory and was crowned our firefighter dressing champion!

What a fantastic way to learn about the important protective clothing firefighters wear to keep themselves safe while helping others.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Stop, Drop and Roll! ๐Ÿ”ฅ

As part of their visit from Luton Fire Brigade, Year 2 learned what to do if their clothes were ever to catch fire. Our children practised the important "Stop, Drop and Roll" technique, helping them understand how to stay safe in an emergency.

Well done to these two superstars for demonstrating the steps so confidently!

๐Ÿš’ Year 2 had a fantastic visit from Luton Fire Brigade this week! ๐Ÿš’

The firefighters taught the children all about fire safety, including how to stay safe at home and what to do if there's a fire. The children impressed our visitors with their knowledge as they answered lots of fire safety questions.

Everyone enjoyed getting a closer look at the fire engine, learning about the specialist equipment firefighters use and seeing the protective uniform they wear to keep themselves safe. A particular highlight was having the opportunity to use the fire hose - something every child got to try!

A huge thank you to the firefighters for such an informative and memorable visit. ๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ”ฅ
