🦖 Dinosaur Day for Pre-School! 🦕

Last week, we shared all about the exciting dinosaur-themed activities our Tweenie Room enjoyed. Today, it’s the turn of our Pre-School children to show you how they celebrated Dinosaur Day! 🦕✨

Our Pre-School children had a fantastic time taking part in a variety of dinosaur-inspired activities throughout the day. In the morning, they explored different shades of green and brown while using stencils to create dinosaur footprints, encouraging creativity and imaginative thinking. The children also enjoyed dinosaur-themed playdough, using their imaginations to create their own prehistoric adventures.

As the day continued, the children explored a dinosaur sensory tray filled with a range of exciting materials including oats, coloured rice, painted spaghetti, natural resources, and dinosaur figures. They thoroughly enjoyed investigating the different textures and engaging in role play, pretending to feed the dinosaurs their lunch and creating their own dinosaur habitats. 🌿🦖

We also enjoyed dinosaur stories, footprint activities, and plenty of opportunities for imaginative play. It was wonderful to see the children’s curiosity, creativity, and enthusiasm shine throughout the day.

A fantastic day of prehistoric fun and learning for our Pre-School room! 😊

📸 Photography Day Reminder 📸

A quick reminder to parents that our Photography Day is on Tuesday 9th June.

⭐ Our Pre-School children will be having a group photo taken.

⭐ If you would like your child to wear a specific outfit for their photo, please bring it in a separate bag clearly labelled with their name, and we will help them get changed before their photograph is taken.

🦕 Dinosaur Day at Swans Care & Education! 🦖

Yesterday, our little explorers had a roaring good time celebrating Dinosaur Day! 🌿✨

The children got hands-on with dinosaur-themed painting, using toy dinosaurs to create colourful prehistoric artwork and explore different textures and patterns. 🎨🦕

We also enjoyed an exciting dinosaur hunt and number-matching activity, helping the children develop their counting, number recognition, problem-solving, and observation skills while searching for their favourite dinosaurs. 🔢🦖

To finish the day, the children became budding bakers as they decorated delicious dinosaur cupcakes, practising their creativity. 🧁💚

Throughout the day, we learned all about different types of dinosaurs, discussed their features and habitats, and even sang a fun new dinosaur song kindly shared by one of our Tweenies children. 🎶😊

☀️🔥 HEATWAVE ALERT 🔥☀️

We hope you’ve all had a lovely sunny bank holiday weekend! With the hot weather continuing throughout the week, here are some of the measures we’ll be taking at Swans Care and Education to help keep all of the children cool and comfortable. 💛

👕 Please ensure your children are dressed as lightly as possible, while still keeping shoulders covered. Thin, light-coloured T-shirts work best.
Please avoid vests for babies, as we may strip babies down to nappies where necessary to help keep them cool.

💧 Our team will regularly apply sun cream, encourage children to drink plenty of cool water, and monitor fluid intake throughout the day.

🌞 Children may still enjoy short periods of outdoor play, while avoiding the hottest parts of the day and staying in shaded areas.

😎 Due to the high temperatures,
Pre-school children will not have to wear uniform so they can stay as cool and comfortable as possible.

🍦 We’ll also be serving no added sugar ice pops as a fun way to help children cool down and stay hydrated.

⛑️ As always, our team are fully first aid trained and know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

🇬🇧✨ St George’s Day Celebrations Nursery ✨🇬🇧

Our nursery came together for a wonderful traditional afternoon, filled with fun and laughter. Our pre-school children made the most of the beautiful weather, enjoying the festivities out in the garden 🌞

Meanwhile, our Tweenies got creative with some fantastic England flag painting, showing off their artistic skills! 🎨

To top it all off, the children had a traditional afternoon tea!

Well done to all our children for taking part and making it such a joyful celebration! 🇬🇧❤️

🌸🌼 Spring has sprung at Swans Care and Education! 🌼🌸

Last week the children and staff kicked off the spring season with a whole host of activities and crafts. The children have been busy exploring, creating, and learning every step of the way!

Our little explorers enjoyed a lovely trip to the park, where they collected blossom and petals, sparking lots of curiosity about the changing season 🌿✨

Back at nursery, the children used their treasures and creativity to design wonderful spring activity boards, full of bright colours and imaginative ideas

We’ve also been learning all about life cycles, with a special focus on caterpillars 🐛 The children had so much fun creating their very own caterpillars, bringing their learning to life through art and play.

In Tweenies & pre-school we have real life caterpillars to experience the life cycle in real time!

It’s been a joyful and busy start to the season, and we can’t wait to see what the rest of spring brings! 🌷
