Sometimes it can just be the simple things. 😊
It can be as simple as giving a child a different pen to write with, breaking things down into really small steps, playing a game or basing learning on specific interests, that can make a difference.
All of these can help children to take more ownership of their learning and therefore have greater enjoyment.
In this case, it was letting a learner have control of the pen so they could write on the screen. A simple thing that caused so much fun, increased enjoyment and a greater confidence in their own ability.

🤔Thinking of Year 1, who will be starting their phonics screening checks this week. During the check, children will be asked to read a mixture of real and ‘alien’ words.

Last week, I had a wonderful face to face session looking at word problems in Maths. My student had named their new cuddly toy Matthew the Maths Monkey, so I was honoured that he could join us.

As many of you may know I love reading, so I’m delighted to be sponsoring some books for the ‘Look for a book event’ organised by Once Upon a Read with Miss Ricket.
If you find one of my books, I’d love to hear from you. 😊

🙋🏻♀️Please get in touch at [email protected] or via Messenger if you would like to chat about how I can help.
I have availability for sessions after school and would be happy to offer a short, free introductory session to help you decide if your child would benefit from some extra support.
