Wow, look at Robin Class' amazing artwork! We used a polystyrene tile to recreate the West Pier and a beautiful wave pattern, which we printed using ink and rollers. We then collaged the pebbles using real photos. They make a beautiful display, with some space left for some lovely writing we are going to finish over the next couple of weeks.

Starlings have been busy investigating gravity during Science Week! After learning about the space scientist Maggie Aderin-Pocock, our young scientists tested a range of materials to find out which would best protect their eggs during a drop challenge.
There were cheers, surprises and a few smashed eggs along the way! π¬π

Year 5 enjoyed a wonderful walk across the South Downs this week. During the walk, the children used their geography skills to identify and discuss a range of physical and human features. We also spotted the 'trig point' and were lucky enough to see a new born calf. What an adventure!

Sycamore have had a great Science Week! The children have learnt what it takes to become an engineer (both civil and environmental) by researching our chosen scientist - Milly Hennayake. Inspired by her work with 'Engineers Without Borders', the class worked in groups to design and test water filtration systems to improve the water quality of some rather gruesome samples.

Wren Class have loved making posters to show what they have learnt Ada Lovelace.
They also have enjoyed learning about shadows. They were amazed to see how their shadows changed position on the playground, as the day went on.

Beech Class had an exciting time last week making boats. As part of out Ancient Egypt topic, we have been wondering how the massive stone blocks which were used to build the pyramids were transported. We decided to investigate which boat design would hold the most weight. We made our boats from foil and tested how many blocks they would hold until they sank!
