Today we popped to McVeigh Parker with a thank‑you card and a tray of doughnuts to show our appreciation for their generous donation of fencing. Luke from L S Garden Solutions kindly installed it for us, with help from Steve at Rushall Farm — they also received a big warm thank‑you (and a sweet treat!).
Thanks to these brilliant people, our Nature Garden is now safely fenced and ready for us to start installing all our other wonderful donations 🥰

As part of our Growth & Nature topic, we took the children out to search for elderflower so we could make our own elderflower cordial. We wanted to show them that we don’t always need to buy things from the shop, sometimes nature provides what we need (thank you, Tony Powell for allowing us to use the elderflower from your garden). The overall verdict on our homemade cordial was very positive, with lots of thumbs-up.

We always manage to have a great time at preschool even if the weather is a bit miserable and we stay inside! 🥰

What a special journey our caterpillars have been on - not only have they gone through a massive transformation, they have survived the enthusiastic children of St. Peter's preschool! 😍
We all now know that those teeny-weeny caterpillars that hatched from tiny eggs can eat soooo much food it makes them sleepy. They then put themselves to bed and make a cocoon until it's time to get up and become a beautiful butterfly....
.. Then they lay tiny eggs for teeny-weeny caterpillars to hatch and it starts all over again.
The miracle of life being witnessed first hand is such a special experience!

We would like to send a HUGE thank you to Mary, Leanne, and everyone at Cripps Farm for their incredibly kind donation toward our nature garden. Thanks to your generosity, we’ve been able to buy a fab potting shed along with lots of fun goodies to fill it. We can’t wait for the children to explore and enjoy everything! 😍

This week we had a visit from Boogie Mites. Lizzie, the session leader, was fab! She engaged the children with fun musical activities that supported their listening and attention skills, while also introducing early literacy concepts such as phonics, syllables, and narration.

Risky play is a natural part of children's development. It involves activities that are exciting and challenging - Today we challenged the children to build their own risky obstacle course. 🙃
What Public Health & Safety states about risky play -
• When planning and providing play opportunities, the goal is not to eliminate risk, but to weigh up the risks and benefits
• Those providing play opportunities should focus on controlling the real risks, while securing or increasing the benefits.
• Accidents and mistakes happen during play, but fear of litigation and prosecution has been blown out of proportion
