Springfield School Wilmslow

1NM have had a lovely week. We have enjoyed the story "The Snail and the Whale" and have investigated the different settings in the story like sunny beaches and icy waves. We have also loved making the best of the nice weather and spending time in Forest School. Another lovely week!

1AT had an absolutely fantastic time at Castaway Play this week. Our trip started with a lovely minibus ride with lots of singing! We arrived at castaway and jumped straight in the big sand pit. Then we had the opportunity to explore the whole play area with slides, ball pools, playhouses and water play. It was such a fun morning and the children were absolutely fantastic, we're so proud of them all. Well done 1AT!

Last Friday, 2CM visited the Sealife Centre. We had a wonderful time learning about the different sea creatures. We enjoyed learning about the green sea turtles journey. We saw lots of different types of creatures and habitats. We enjoyed exploring and learning about them. We have used this experience as part of our work this week. We have talked about what we saw and liked and explained why. We have also written sentences about what we saw.
We had a fabulous time on our trip and are enjoying still talking about it and looking at the photos now. Well done 2CM.

3LB have had such a busy week! We explored creating bubbles in science using bicarbonate of soda and vinegar and bath bombs! This week in English, we have loved listening to the adventures of 'Our Kid' our class bear. The pupils enjoyed interviewing him to find out what he got up to! We ate our fruit ice lollies that we made last week and the class were very impressed with their creations! Well done 3LB, what a brilliant week!

3SM have been keeping cool this week with the delicious popsicles they made in cooking using real fruit. They were a huge hit, and the class have already asked to make some more in different colours!

We’re so proud of one of our secondary students who has crocheted her own cardigan! She chose the colours, followed a tutorial, and created this amazing piece herself. What a brilliant achievement! 🧶✨

1ES have had a great week! We have been looking at different recipes in Cooking and have focused on following the recipe for flapjacks. The children had lots of fun making flapjacks and trying the different ingredients such as milk and raisins- the taste testing was definitely the children's favourite part. We have also explored different coins and notes in Maths and the children enjoyed playing shops and matching.

This week 1NM enjoyed a trip to Reddish Vale Farm. We met and fed lots of animals including sheep, goats and donkeys! We ran around together in the soft play area and loved climbing and sliding. We finished the trip off with a tractor ride where we got to see some sheep in their field. The whole class had a fantastic day and we are so proud of them all.

In 1AT this week, we have had lots of pirate fun! We helped Mrs pirate with her shopping in our sensory story and have enjoyed learning some pirate and boat themed songs and rhymes. In phonics, our sound of the week was D, and in outdoor learning, we helped to wash the muddy animals in our water trays. We've also had chance to practice our skills, in all areas, in our continuous provision and table top activities. What a busy week 1AT!
