Let me tell you something about mothers. πŸ‘οΈ
"Kul khunfusa fi 'ayn ummiha ghazal." β€” Every beetle is a gazelle in the eyes of its mother.
The world will call your child slow. Average. Not special. Too dark. Too thin. Too loud. Too quiet. Not like the neighbor's child. Not like the one on TV.
But a mother? She sees what no one else can see. The spark. The fight. The beauty buried so deep that only love can find it.
This proverb crossed deserts and oceans because every culture on earth knows this truth β€” mothers don't see with their eyes. They see with something older. Something unshakable.
So to every mother reading this: the way you see your child is not bias. It is vision. Keep protecting that vision. The world needs mothers who refuse to see their children the way the world does. πŸŒπŸ’›

Look around you carefully. 🐘
When two giants clash β€” two governments, two bosses, two families, two political parties β€” they go home and sleep in their soft beds. But the grass? The grass is left bruised, trampled, and forgotten.
"Wapiganapo tembo wawili, nyasi huumia." β€” When two elephants fight, it is the grass that gets hurt.
This proverb has carried Africa for generations because it never expires. The trader at Makola feels every tax war. The farmer in the north feels every policy quarrel. The young graduate feels every boardroom fight he was never invited to.
So when you find yourself in the middle of other people's wahala β€” at work, at home, in the family WhatsApp group β€” pause. Ask yourself: "Am I the elephant, or am I the grass?"

Stop trying to fit on a branch that was never built for you. πŸ’πŸŒ³
"All monkeys cannot hang from the same branch."
Look at us β€” everybody wants to do the same hustle. One person opens a smoothie bar, the whole street opens smoothie bars. One person becomes a content creator, suddenly everyone is filming. One person travels abroad, the rest of us start measuring our lives against their pictures. We crowd one branch and wonder why it's breaking under our weight.
The elders are telling us something simple: the forest is BIG. There are branches you haven't even seen yet β€” branches with your name carved into them. But you'll never find yours if you keep fighting for space on somebody else's.
Your gift is not their gift. Your timing is not their timing. Your path is not their path. The moment you accept that, the jealousy quiets down, the comparison stops, and you start looking around with fresh eyes for what is YOURS.

Hatred is a sickness with no clinic. πŸ’”
"No medicine exists that can cure hatred."
The elders are not joking with this one. You can take paracetamol for headache. You can buy malaria treatment from the chemist shop. You can fix a broken leg. But the day a man decides to hate his brother, his neighbour, his ex, his colleague β€” no doctor in this world can write him a prescription.
That sickness lives in the heart. And the heart only heals when the person decides to put the bitterness down. That is why hatred destroys families that should be eating together. That is why it ends friendships that took 20 years to build. That is why it makes successful people miserable β€” they have everything, but they are still nursing one wound from 1998.
If you are carrying hatred for somebody right now, ask yourself honestly: who is suffering? You. Not them. They are sleeping. You are the one awake at 2am replaying the offence.
Forgive β€” not because they deserve it, but because YOU deserve peace. πŸ™πŸΎ

Everybody wants tomorrow. Few people prepare for it. ⏳"Tomorrow belongs to people who prepare for it today."We say "by next year my life will change" β€” but we haven't opened a savings account. We say "I want to travel" β€” but we haven't started the passport. We say "I want to be my own boss" β€” but we close our laptop at 5pm and don't pick up another book. We say "I want a strong marriage" β€” but we won't even sit down for an honest conversation. The future is not a surprise gift that drops on your doorstep. It is a building. And every quiet, unglamorous decision you make today is one more brick.Stop waiting for the perfect moment. Stop waiting for somebody to come and rescue you. Stop waiting for "the right time." The right time is the small action you can take in the next 24 hours.

The elders saw something we keep forgetting. 🐘🌾
"When two elephants fight, it is the grass that gets hurt."
Look around β€” two countries quarrel, and ordinary people can't buy fuel. Two political parties insult each other, and the market woman's tomatoes spoil. Two managers in an office have ego problems, and the junior staff is the one who loses the job. Even at home β€” when husband and wife are fighting, it's the children who carry the wounds quietly into adulthood.
This proverb is a warning AND a strategy. A warning to those of us who like to put our mouth where giants are clashing. And a strategy β€” because sometimes the wisest move is to bend low, stay quiet, and let the storm pass over your head.
You don't always have to take a side. You don't always have to comment. You don't always have to "stand for something" in every fight. Sometimes protecting your peace, your family, your business is the most revolutionary thing you can do.

Some of us cannot sit down. 🐍The job is fine β€” we're scrolling for another. The relationship is healing β€” we're already entertaining a new one. The business is growing slowly β€” we abandon it for the next "opportunity" somebody posted on WhatsApp."Restless feet might walk you into a snake pit."Our elders saw this clearly. There's a kind of movement that looks like ambition but is really fear. Fear of stillness. Fear of facing what's actually going on inside. So we keep moving, keep switching, keep chasing β€” and we end up bitten by something we never saw coming, in a place we had no business going.Stillness is not laziness. Sometimes sitting down is the bravest, most strategic thing you can do. Look before you leap. Pray before you pivot. Ask before you abandon.

Watch a palm wine tapper one time and you'll understand life. 🌴
He doesn't fly. He doesn't teleport. He doesn't pay somebody to bring the fruit down for him. He ties his rope, grips the trunk, and climbs β€” slowly, carefully, one stretch at a time. And when he reaches the top, the sweetness is his.
"No shortcuts exist to the top of a palm tree."
Ghana, we are living in a generation that wants the harvest without the climbing. Quick money. Quick fame. Quick degree. Quick relationship. Quick anointing. And we wonder why so many people are reaching the "top" only to fall harder than they ever expected.
The ones who climb properly may take longer β€” but when they get there, they stay there. Their roots are real. Their hands are strong. Their story can stand questioning.
Whatever you're climbing right now β€” keep your grip. Don't look down at the people taking shortcuts. Many of them will not make it.

The elders have a way of telling you the truth without raising their voice. 🌍
"Do not look where you fell. Look where you slipped."
When something breaks down in our lives β€” the business, the marriage, the friendship, the money β€” we spend all our energy crying at the place we landed. The shame. The loss. The "how did I get here."
But the answer is not there.
The answer is somewhere behind you. A small decision. A red flag you smiled at. A "let me manage" when you should have walked away. A boundary you didn't set. An advice you didn't take.
Falling is loud. Slipping is quiet. And until you go back and find that quiet moment, you will keep falling in different places, in different ways, with different people.
Sankofa is not punishment β€” it's protection. Go back. Look honestly. Then walk forward wiser. πŸ™πŸΎ
