Most students usually make this mistake when they want to ask "what question" in Bahasa Indonesia.

In Indonesian language, mainly spoken language, apa is placed after verbs

Pattern : verbs + apa?

How to ask a YES-NO question in the Indonesian language.

"Apa"

Simply, use the word "apa" to turn a statement into a YES-NO question. Yes-No question simply asks a confirmation.

For example.
Ini ikan. (this is a fish). (if you are not sure whether this is fish or not? You can ask:
Apa ini ikan? ( Is this a fish?)

e.g.
Kamu mau kopi.
Apa kamu mau kopi?

Exercise
Turn these statements into a yes no questions!

- Kamu dari Bali. ( You are from Bali)
- Kamu s**a Bali. (You like Bali)
- Kamu mau kopi. You want coffee)
