Today, we had the highlight of our Active School Week, the Parents' Association Sports Day. The children really look forward to this day every year. They had an absolutely wonderful day. Our Parents' Association put on a tremendous event. A massive thank you to all the parents who helped make this day so memorable for the children. We also had the lovely surprise of Meath footballer, Orlaith Sheehy, coming to present the children with their medals-thank you Orlaith! There will be some tired children and adults tonight!

We are celebrating Active Week in school. Thank you to Eddie from Drogheda United F.C. for his excellent futsal sessions with the children today. Futsal accelerates motor skill development, improves decision making and boosts fitness. A heavier ball is used that doesn't bounce so high. The game is fast paced and helps improve ball control. The game also emphasises skill over size and physical strength. It is more inclusive with children getting six times more touches than in traditional, eleven-a-side football. Thanks again to all at Drogheda United for the enjoyment that they have provided for our children this year.

Our seniors-2nd and Mrs Allen/Ms McDaid's class had a great school tour in Navan Adventure Centre today. Here are some pictures from their day.
