🇮🇪 SAVE THE DATE – IRISH JUDO 2026 🇮🇪

The momentum keeps building for Irish Judo in 2026 and we are excited to confirm the next two major National Squad events taking place in Dublin this year.

🇮🇪 INST 4 – Ireland National Squad Training
🗓 5 July 2026

🇮🇪 INST 5 – Ireland National Squad Training & International Training Camp
🗓 5–6 September 2026

INST numbers throughout 2026 have been brilliant, with strong attendance and great energy across every session. We are also looking forward to welcoming back judoka returning from training and competition blocks across Poland, Germany, Spain & Estonia 🇵🇱🇩🇪🇪🇸🇪🇪

September’s International Training Camp is already attracting interest from clubs and athletes across Europe, building on the hugely successful camps we have hosted previously. This will be another fantastic opportunity for athletes to gain high-level randori, international experience and quality preparation in a world-class environment.

With Irish pathway athletes continuing to progress strongly on the European circuit and our high-performance athletes focused on LA28 qualification, these events are an important part of the journey ahead.

🇮🇪 BEST OF LUCK TO OUR IRISH CADETS 🇵🇱

Tomorrow, our cadet athletes fly out to Poland to compete at the prestigious Biesko-Biala Millennium Team Cadet Cup, continuing their development and gaining valuable international experience on the European stage.

Representing the team are Sofia, Edward, David and Alexandru, who are all looking forward to this exciting next step in their judo journey.

The athletes will be coached and supported throughout the trip by National Coach Eoin Fleming, alongside Garfield Richardson, as they take on strong opposition from across Europe.

As well as competing in the tournament, the team will also remain in Poland to participate in the international training camp, where they will have the opportunity to train alongside top cadet judoka from across the continent — an invaluable experience both on and off the mat.

We wish the entire team every success in competition and hope they return home with plenty of learnings, confidence and international experience from what promises to be a fantastic week of judo.

Safe travels and best of luck everyone! ☘️🥋

🇮🇪 BEST OF LUCK TO BEARACH GLEESON 🇪🇸

This weekend Bearach steps onto the mat once again representing Ireland at the La Nucía Benidorm European Open in the -90kg category on the European Judo Tour.

Spain has already been a successful hunting ground for Bearach, following his outstanding gold medal performance in Málaga back in October 2024 — and we’re hoping for more success this weekend! 💪🥋

Bearach travels with the support of Coach Paul Green, before linking up with Joshua Green afterwards as both athletes remain in Spain for an intensive week of training locally in Benidorm, followed by further preparation camps in Valencia.

The work doesn’t stop there, with all focus now turning towards upcoming international events in Estonia and Mongolia over the next two months as preparations continue at full pace.

Fight hard. Believe. Perform.
Make Ireland proud ☘️
