You Smile...I Smile...
We believe that volunteering should be fun and people should enjoy it rather then doing it out of compulsion. A SMILE! Of course you do!
To watch a little child giving a slurpy kiss to his or her mother,
When you saw that old couple walking hand in hand this morning during your jog,
That moment when you catch a quick view of a couple exchange that self familiar blush,
That smirk you notice on a colleagues face when you back up for him when your boss was about to yell,
Noticing a certain beam on that girl’s face in the bus after rea
ding a message on her phone,
A perfectly suitable song for your mood appears on the radio or your playlist,
The morning after that long-working night was restored with those happy words from a senior or a colleague,
A hug you welcomed from that little kid you met at the park,
To see your favorite dessert on the dinner table,
When your mom calls to check how is work treating that day,
When a photograph turns out just right at the very first click,
To hear the watchman at your office greet you with a happy good morning wish on a gloomy day,
When rain drops surprise you over that long countryside drive,
Reading those grammatically incorrect or atrociously funny lines on a bill board,
It is the cheery green plants on the side of a dusty street that stands against the odds,
Intends to clear the mental mist, confusion or worries,
Realizing that someone is happy just because you could be there for them,
Something you do which automatically brings everyone else to follow it. Smile is one of the most basic gestures we as humans are blessed with. It is disappointing to see how often we forget this very blessing. Those little things we can do, be it a couple of dedicated hours at the old age home/an orphanage or a special school, by being the reason for another’s happiness, by merely being there with someone, just by being present for them could turn out to be those simple acts of kindness generating hundreds of happy hearts and smiling faces all across. And we at Share A Smile want to pay it forward to many more souls on this universe. It is unbelievable how you can affect someone else so deeply and never know. Try not to drown your sorrows but to instead suffocate them with smiles, trust us, it works! There is no better feeling than realizing you are the reason behind someone’s happiness. There is content in the act of giving. It is indeed strange to comprehend the verity behind how those few hours with children/old age groups/special kids can fill your inner soul with an endless amount of happiness where you forget all your worries. Their worlds become yours; of course it is the happiest of all. There is no good time to Share A Smile because there are way too many beautiful people in the world but not too many people in search for those beautiful souls. And we at Share A Smile are on a mission to create a growing community of emissaries to not simply find those beautiful souls but to recognize and show them to the world. A weekend filled with activities at an orphanage full of a cheerful lot. There are times we go on lunch dates with the most handsome and gorgeous old age beauties. We party on a weekday sometimes, celebrating birthdays at a special school. We join kids a city hospital with a story telling sessions and sometimes to just let loose and dance. Animal shelters are sometimes a Share A Smile destination for us. Come visit our next fund raiser, we mean the Share A Smile carnival. Like our idea of Sharing A Smile? May be thinking of joining us?
