The School Tree Project has collaborated with the CSR initiative of Bengaluru Football Club called BFC Cares. Our volunteers built lanterns and painted diyas with the kids from Magic Bus, Dream a Dream foundation and the players at the Bengaluru Football Stadium.

We are excited and honoured to share some amazing news!
The School Tree Project is now a partner with Bengaluru FC 's CSR initiative BFC Cares.

October 15th is celebrated as the Global Handwash Day.
The volunteers at The School Tree Project visited Gangondanahalli GPS and painted murals promoting the healthy habit of hand washing. It's amazing how little things like murals can be used as a visual tool for spreading awareness.
On behalf of The School Tree Project we would like to thank the staff at Gangondanahalli GHPS and Teach for India for letting us collaborate with them.
Special thanks to Rohit Balakrishnan, a fellow at Teach for India and an alumunus of MSRIT for helping us in making this happen.

Over the summer vacation we had a summer camp (Summer at ECHO) for the children at the ECHO Center of Juvenile Justice. Other than our 6 basic extracurricular activities that we work with which are Sports, Art, Theatre, Music, Dance and Public Speaking; during the summer camp we also taught them basic Computer Science and Astronomy.
We would like to thank ECHO for giving us the opportunity to conduct the summer camp.

This entire journey with school tree has taught me that, all it takes to have an amazing day, is to interact with these munchkins who teach you a lot more than what you can teach them. ECHO- Center for Juvenile Justice is a leading NGO in Bangalore working for children in difficult circumstances.
For the rehabilitation of poor and destitute children ECHO has started a 1 year diploma course in hotel management affiliated with ROC Mondriaan International Hotel Management School in the Hague, Netherlands and provides internship and job placements with its hospitality partners in Bangalore -The Leela Palace and Hilton group of hotels.
This is a hotel school for the marginalized and free education is provided for financially weak and deserving students.

"Through school tree I had the privilege of meeting and interacting with a few "underprivileged" kids, but the smile on their faces and their genuineness made me wonder what privilege actually means. Each one of them have immense potential which is waiting to be tapped into. When we were with them whatever was on our minds just vanished and we were in paradise. That feeling when you know that there are these kids eagerly waiting for you to tell you what happened that week and the satisfaction get by teaching them something new is unbeatable. I joined school tree thinking I would be teaching a few kids something new. But I ended up learning more than what I could have not possible taught in a lifetime."
