*Recreation onboard*
Out in the ocean a team of 18 to 22 seafarers (in cargo ships) manage a vessel while transporting cargo from one place to another. Some manage the navigation, some the engine room; and some the kitchen to keep the team fed healthy.
In such a scenario the team needs a lot of unity and working towards a common goal - to safely transport cargo; team activities build the team and the ships do provide opportunity for team building. It is important to keep the morale of the seafarers in the positive note.
Cricket in the hatch is one such activity. Am glad i sailed during a time when mobile phones hardly got Internet to communicate; and so it was important to have healthy entertainment while onboard. Sport!

*New Ships Delivery*
Yard Delivery of brand new vessels is a great opportunity to learn and excel in the maritime industry. An otherwise steady knowledge growth picks up pace and lot of activities happen. From learning the construction all by ourselves during the familiarisation period to handling the vessel for the very first time takes immense amount of knowledge and equally sound commitment and courage. To top it all, the ability to manage a team whole we have probably met only at the airport of the port of delivery of vessel.
A lot goes into building a character of courage for such assignments.

Scholarship grant from MUI to COC clearers after 2023. It is an initiative, for those who are in need. Even those who are in excess, avail the benefit and share it with the ones who need it, to make them a part of the maritime fraternity.

Bulk Carriers can be either gearless, with cranes, with gantry, derricks, conveyor booms. They can carry cargo of varying densities.
SOLAS Chapter XII deals with additional safety for Bulk Carriers apart from the detailing in given in Chapter 2 for the construction of such vessels.
