PM SHRI Namchi Government Girls’ Senior Secondary School observed World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2026 cm Inauguration of Pad Changing Room in collaboration with Sulabh School Sanitation Club.
The programme was graced by the presence of the Special Guest, Madam Anupa Tamling, DC Namchi District, along with the esteemed presence of Shri G.P. Sharma, CEO, Education Department, Namchi.
The Pad Changing Room was formally inaugurated by Madam Anupa Tamling, DC Namchi District, in the presence of all the esteemed dignitaries.

The programme was beautifully curated by the students and the School Sanitation Club. The event commenced with warm greetings and meaningful presentations highlighting the importance of menstrual hygiene and women empowerment.
The programme featured inspiring speeches, melodious group songs, and a spectacular drama based on the “5 Ps of Menstrual Hygiene”, which was beautifully demonstrated by the students and left a deep impact on the audience. The powerful performance conveyed the importance of breaking stigmas, maintaining hygiene, and embracing menstruation with confidence and pride.
A vibrant cultural performance reflecting the celebration of womanhood and menstruation further captivated the audience. The students showcased their talent through dance and creative expressions promoting awareness and positivity surrounding menstrual health.
The winners of essay writing, poetry, and drawing competitions organised on the occasion were felicitated with certificates in recognition of their creativity and active participation.
Respected Madam Anupa Tamling, DC Namchi District, delivered an empowering speech on the beauty and strength of womanhood. She highlighted how women are the creators and nurturers of life and encouraged students to embrace themselves with confidence and dignity. Madam also applauded the entire school fraternity for organising such a meaningful and impactful programme for the welfare and awareness of young girls.
The inauguration of the Pad Changing Room marked a significant step towards promoting menstrual hygiene management and creating a safe and comfortable environment for students. The event truly served as an epitome of awareness, empowerment, dignity, and collective responsibility towards menstrual health.
The next programme for the day was an online awareness session organised by SINI NGO along with State Bank of India, Kolkata Circle. The session was attended by students in the school ICT Room and focused on Menstrual Hygiene Management awareness, aiming to educate and sensitise students regarding proper menstrual practices and health.
This was followed by an Awareness Programme on Menstrual Hygiene conducted by the IEC Cell, District Hospital Namchi, at the school auditorium, which was attended by the students with great interest and participation.
In conclusion, the series of events organised throughout the day proved to be a remarkable initiative towards spreading awareness, promoting healthy practices, and encouraging open conversations on menstrual hygiene and women empowerment.
