He wrote 65 novels, 53-story-books, 12 plays, 4 essay-books, 4 autobiographies, 2 travel stories and composed several songs. He was awarded Rabindra Puraskar, Sahitya Akademi Award, Jnanpith Award, Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan.. Mangal Pandey ( 19 July 1827, Nagwa
Died: 8 April 1857, Barrackpore)was an Indian soldier who played a key part in the events immediately preceding the outbreak of the Indian rebellion of 1857. He was a sepoy in the 34th Bengal Native Infantry regiment of the British East India Company. In 1984, the Indian government issued a postage stamp to remember.

He was known for his Hindu mythological and Nationalist historical plays and songs known as Dwijendrageeti or the Songs of Dwijendralal, which number over 500, create a separate subgenre of Bengali music.

Kadambini Ganguly (Born: 18 July 1861, Bhagalpur
Died: 3 October 1923, Kolkata)
was one of the first female physicians from India as well as from the entire British Empire. Kadambini, herself, was also the first Indian as well as South Asian female physician, trained in western medicine, to graduate in South Asia.

Bhanubhakta Acharya(Born: 13 July 1814, Chundi Ramgha
Died: 23 April 1868, Tanahun, Nepal.)was a Nepali poet, translator and writer. He was the first writer to translate the great epic Ramayana from Sanskrit to Nepali. Despite having other contemporary poets in the country during his time, he is revered and honored with the title of Adikavi (The First Poet) of the Nepali language. . .
