"The chief problem in any community cursed with crime is not the punishment of the criminals but the preventing of the young minds from being trained to crime." -W.E.B.Du Bois.
Keeping this principle as a goal, our augmenting Vibranture Criminologist Forum (VCF), Department of Criminology, JRSU conducted its first awareness program on Saturday, 14th January 2024 in Jawahar Novodaya Vidyalaya, Meera, Ranchi.
The young minds of age groups 11-17 years were made aware of the dangers of Mobile Addiction, Social Media Exploitation and Online Gaming. They were also made aware of how hackers can use their online data to exploit them, how they should be alert while receiving an unknown friend request and how they should be careful about their personal information on the internet.
The dynamic minds were also encouraged to spread this valuable knowledge to their siblings, friends as well as parents and relatives.
At the end, students who won the quiz were presented with a small reward as well.
The enthusiasm and participation of these young people elevated our spirits to conduct more programs in the near future.
Special thanks to the principal of the school, Dr. Aditya Kumar Jha who understood the importance of these programs for the young students which has become 'the need of the hour'.
