Weekend Wisdom with SIV
Family Fun Challenge: Interview a Family Hero!
Every family has stories worth discovering. This weekend, encourage children to become young reporters by talking to parents, grandparents, or other family members and uncovering precious memories and life lessons.
Did You Know?
Listening to stories activates different parts of the brain, helping us remember better, understand emotions, and develop empathy.
Fun Fact:
The oldest known stories are over 4,000 years old and were passed down through conversations—just like the stories shared within our families today!
Talk. Listen. Learn. Grow.

WEEKEND WISDOM WITH SIV
Vocabulary Tip by Mr. Ram Krishan, Librarian
Do you often forget the meanings of new words soon after learning them?
Here's a simple trick: Don't just memorize a word—connect it to a picture, story, or real-life example.
Our brains remember stories and images far better than isolated definitions. When you create a meaningful connection, new vocabulary stays in your memory for much longer.
For example, instead of memorizing a difficult word, imagine a situation, person, or object that reminds you of its meaning. The stronger and funnier the connection, the easier it becomes to remember!
Did You Know?
Research shows that our brains store information more effectively when it is linked to images, emotions, or experiences rather than rote repetition.
Weekend Challenge:
Learn one new word and create your own memory picture or story for it. Then share it with a friend or family member.
Remember: Learning becomes easier when it is meaningful, visual, and fun!

Exploring the Globe Through Hands-On Learning!
Our Grade 6 learners brought Geography to life through an engaging activity on latitudes and longitudes. Using balloons as Earth models, students marked and identified important imaginary lines that help us locate places and understand our planet better.
This hands-on experience transformed a complex concept into a fun and memorable learning journey, encouraging curiosity, creativity, and deeper understanding.
At SIV, learning goes beyond textbooks—students learn by doing, exploring, and discovering.
