Let’s tackle a classic blunder that seems to haunt Italian speakers: the charming mix-up of prepositions.
Saying “I’m good in cooking” makes it sound like you’re trapped inside a soufflé — great job, but how do we get you out?
In English, we award you the culinary gold star for “I’m good at cooking,” which suggests you actually have some skills.
But “in”? That’s just a one-way ticket to a confused conversation about your culinary confinement.
When you want to show off your kitchen talents (or any other talent really), stick to “good AT”. Much less claustrophobic.
