Un ringraziamento di cuore a tutti coloro che hanno partecipato, celebrato e condiviso con noi la conclusione di questo anno di intenso lavoro e crescita comunitaria. Buon proseguimento a tutti! 🙏



🌟On Thursday 28 May, in the Abbey Church on Via di Torre Rossa, the academic community gathered for the solemn Holy Mass marking the end of the academic year.
The liturgy was presided over by:

The moment of prayer was made unforgettable by the melodies of Gregorian chant, compositions by Mozart, including the Missa Brevis and the Vesperae Solennes de Confessore, and music by C.P.E. Bach.🎶

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who took part, celebrated and shared with us the conclusion of this year of intense work and community growth. All the best to everyone! 🙏

✨Il 22 maggio si è concluso con grande successo il Festival d’organo presso la Chiesa Abbaziale del PIMS. Quest'anno abbiamo offerto tre masterclass e tre concerti di altissimo livello, specchio dei nostri bienni specialistici.

Ecco i protagonisti di questa edizione:
• M° Manuel Tomadin – Musica Antica: Masterclass e concerto con un percorso dal Rinascimento al Classicismo.👏
• M° Franz Josef Stoiber – Improvvisazione Liturgica: Masterclass e concerto dedicati all'arte estemporanea.👏
• M° Johannes Kleinjung – Musica Romantica e Contemporanea: Chiusura con i grandi affreschi organistici della Germania centrale.👏

✨On 22 May, the Organ Festival at the PIMS Abbey Church came to a highly successful close. This year, we presented three masterclasses and three concerts of the very highest standard, reflecting the focus of our two-year specialist courses.

Here are the key figures of this year’s festival:
• Maestro Manuel Tomadin – Early Music: Masterclass and concert exploring a journey from the Renaissance to the Classical period.👏
• Maestro Franz Josef Stoiber – Liturgical Improvisation: Masterclass and concert dedicated to the art of improvisation.👏
• Maestro Johannes Kleinjung – Romantic and Contemporary Music: Closing concert featuring the great organ masterpieces of Central Germany.👏

Our heartfelt thanks go to the guest lecturers, our students and the audience who, once again, brought together great music and high-quality education.

Una manifestazione di intensa bellezza spirituale e musicale ha illuminato, martedì 26 maggio 2026, la Basilica di Sant’Apollinare, in occasione del tradizionale Concerto per la Licenza in Direzione di Coro, sotto la guida del M° Walter Marzilli.

In programma, la Missa Brevis KV 49 (47d) e i Vesperae Solennes de Confessore KV 339 di Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Don Bruno Diklić ed Ercole Cortone hanno diretto il Coro Polifonico e l’Orchestra da Camera del PIMS, con l’organista Marco Rivas e i solisti Maria Grazia Schiavo, Marta Pacifici, Derlis González Morel e Kevin Malcom Cribb.

La serata ha confermato ancora una volta il ruolo del Pontificio Istituto di Musica Sacra, presieduto da P. Robert Mehlhart, come luogo di eccellenza internazionale nella formazione, nella ricerca e nella trasmissione del patrimonio musicale della Chiesa. 👏



An event of profound spiritual and musical beauty illuminated the Basilica of Sant’Apollinare on Tuesday 26 May 2026, on the occasion of the traditional Concert for the Diploma in Choral Conducting, conducted by Maestro Walter Marzilli.

The programme featured Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Missa Brevis KV 49 (47d) and Vesperae Solennes de Confessore KV 339. Don Bruno Diklić and Ercole Cortone conducted the PIMS Polyphonic Choir and Chamber Orchestra, with organist Marco Rivas and soloists Maria Grazia Schiavo, Marta Pacifici, Derlis González Morel and Kevin Malcom Cribb.

The evening once again confirmed the role of the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music, presided over by Fr Robert Mehlhart, as a centre of international excellence in education, research and the transmission of the Church’s musical heritage.👏

🎵Un viaggio straordinario nella musica sacra attraverso i secoli. Si è svolto lunedì 25 maggio il concerto "Regina Coeli" con la partecipazione degli allievi della classe di Canto didattico di Maria Grazia Schiavo, accompagnati da Marco Rivas al pianoforte e all’organo.

Bravissimi tutti i solisti per aver portato le opere di grandi compositori, tra cui Händel, Bach, Pergolesi, Vivaldi e molti altri, nella splendida cornice della Chiesa Abbaziale del PIMS.👏✨



🎵An extraordinary journey through sacred music across the centuries. The “Regina Coeli” concert took place on Monday 25 May, featuring the students of Maria Grazia Schiavo’s Vocal Studies class, accompanied by Marco Rivas on the piano and organ.

Well done to all the soloists for performing works by great composers, including Handel, Bach, Pergolesi, Vivaldi and many others, in the splendid setting of the PIMS Abbey Church.👏✨
