Jobs at National Social Security Fund(NSSF)

29/12/2021

Hey! as we close out the year, I wanted to share with you a career tip that I have shared previously within this group. I know it's been a tough year, however, you have made it this far. It's important to remember that you are human and sometimes, when you have done all you can, trust that every little step you take will result in a breakthrough. This life is not about showing how strong you are, it's about taking those little steps and trusting that God will bless your efforts. The key is TAKING ACTION, BELIEF AND TRUST. This year I have supported so many Professionals with their CV revamps, interview preps and career consultations. I will be honest, there is no magic in landing a job. Many of my clients have secured jobs with an increase in salary but I still have clients where we are still working on securing those roles. It’s always important to be recruitment ready at all times because you never know when an opportunity will present itself.
Jan & Feb happen to be top HIRING months, however, these days, the job market is even more competitive, companies have been forced to restructure and limit their hiring budget. Here are tips to revamp your CV like I have with my clients:
The top 1/3 of your CV is extremely important because that's the section that will entice the hiring manager to read the rest of your CV. Bear in mind now that companies now use an ATS software so whenever you upload your CV online, it tracks for keywords matching the role and Ranks your CV. You can have all the qualifications and skills, however, if you don't rank high enough, you will not get through the system. Bear in mind, there is a lot of competition so you will get rejection emails & that's okay. Keep applying.
This is how to structure your CV:
Your contact section should have your name, profession, email, phone & LinkedIn. Then start with a professional/executive profile. This your high impact introduction informing your potential employer of your skills, achievements and how you match the role. This section is very IMPORTANT. Don't sell yourself short and don't lie either!
After your Profile, add your Core Competencies/Areas of Expertise section. Remember, these are your technical and hard skills match the role e.g. Strategic Planning, Report Writing, CRM, Administration Operations etc. Skills like time management or communication are not core skills. These are your soft skills. If you are a recent graduate, your education should come under your core competencies section. If you have work experience, then your education comes under your work experience section
When writing your work experience, please don't copy paste the JD. E.g. instead of writing "Providing reports for the committee" Write "Prepared and produced high level reports and submitted these to the committee for strategic decision making". See how different that sounds??? If you have no work experience, add your internship, attachment or side hustle. You really should have some type of work experience!!!
Add a section of courses/workshops/training you have attended. Show your philanthropic side. Add your achievements within your work experience.
Lastly professional, and I know some will argue with me, ADD 3 REFERENCES TO YOUR CV. Putting references upon request will result in you going to the bottom of the pile. Let potential references know that you would like to add them to your CV and they will provide you with their Contact details. Beware of rogue recruiters. I recommend applying for jobs through LinkedIn, Shortlist/legit recruitment websites or directly on the company website.
I know it's tough submitting applications & getting rejections etc, however, don't give up My clients who have landed jobs this year are those who got very specific on the jobs they wanted and we worked on being very strategic on their job application search. Did they get rejections - YES, did they get interviews - YES, for some it took 2 weeks to get the job, others months while others are still applying. I like to keep it real. Anyway, as you go into 2022, I hope this info helps you. I’ve met many wonderful ladies through this group so feel free to say hey. God Bless You!

Over the years, we have remained consistently state of the art in marketing, always finding new and exciting ways to reach consumers, from the classic store to the most sophisticated digital technology. This is why some of the world’s best marketing pros and business leaders started with us. Our brand management philosophy can be summed up in a simple concept: “Consumer is boss”, and we believe we have 3 moments to win with consumers’ preference:

when they browse for your product on the internet,

when they choose to buy our product in the store and

when they use it at home.

These are what we call the ‘3 moments of truth’. The first two moments is what we focus on when we market products.

Your Role as an Intern in Marketing:

You will be offered an internship in a multi-functional Brand team- organized around the brands that we sell in India (Ariel, Pampers, Gillette, Oral B, Head&Shoulders, …) - consisting of managers with different functional expertise and background (Brand Management, but also Sales, Finance, Product Supply, Advertising and Media agencies)

- Co-leading the digital marketing on your brand (visibility, content, local partnerships, eCommerce etc).

- Co-developing Market and Initiative Reviews. Organize internal events.
