135th Birth Anniversary Commemoration of F. G. Stevens, Founder of the Sri Lanka Scout Movement

The Scout Group of Bandaranayake College commemorated the 135th birth anniversary of F. G. Stevens, the founder of the Sri Lanka Scout Movement, in a meaningful manner within the school premises.

During the programme, floral tributes were offered to his portrait as a mark of respect and gratitude for the invaluable service he rendered to the youth of Sri Lanka.

On this occasion, the school's junior scout S Kumudika, delivered an informative speech highlighting the life and contributions of F. G. Stevens.

The event was attended by the school's Scout Leader and 78 Scouts, who actively participated in the commemoration.

බණ්ඩාරනායක විද්‍යාලයේ බාලදක්ෂ සමුහය විසින් ශ්‍රී ලංකා බාලදක්ෂ ව්‍යාපාරයේ නිර්මාතෘ එෆ් ජී ස්ටීවන්ස් මැතිතුමාගේ 135 වන ජන්ම දින සැමරුම අර්ථවත් අයුරින් විද්‍යාල පරිශ්‍රයේදී සිදු කරන ලදී.

මෙම වැඩසටහනේදී එතුමාගේ ඡායාරූපය වෙත පුෂ්පෝපහාර දක්වමින් එතුමා විසින් ශ්‍රී ලාංකික තරුණ තරුණියන් වෙනුවෙන් සිදු කරන ලද අගනා සේවයට ගෞරවය හා කෘතඥතාවය පළ කරන ලදී.

මෙහිදී විද්‍යාලීය කණිෂ්ඨ බාලදක්ෂ S කුමුදික විසින් එතුමාගේ ජීවිත කතා පිළිබඳව හරවත් දේශනයක් පවත්වන ලදී.වැඩසටහන සඳහා විද්‍යාලීය බාලදක්ෂ ආචාරණී සහ බාලදක්ෂයින් 78 දෙනකු සහභාගි විය.

Scaling New Heights: A Historic Nayaken Triumph! 🗻

Our fellow Senior Scout,H.A.S.H.Jayawardane has etched his name in history as the 2nd Youngest Sri Lankan ever and the First Nayaken to reach Everest Base Camp!

​Standing at a breathtaking altitude of 5,364m above mean sea level (17,600 feet), Senior Scout Savinidu conquered the trek alongside his father, former Nayaken Dinesh Jayawardhana.
This monumental feat proves that with resilience and a Nayaken’s heart, no challenge is too great.
​Your courage brings immense pride to the Blue and Maroon. Congratulations on conquering the impossible!

International Badge Awareness Program 2026 ⚜️🌍
​We are proud to announce the successful completion of the International Badge Awareness Program, organized for the Junior Scouts of Bandanayake College.
​Held on the 29th of March, 2026, the session was expertly conducted by Mr. Dinitha Sonal, providing our young scouts with invaluable insights into the global scouting movement. This program marks a significant step in fostering international brotherhood and skill development among our scouts
