Job Posting: ACADEMIC DEPARTMENT CHAIR (Extern)

Liberia International Christian College (LICC) invites applications for the position of Academic Department Chair.

LICC is a Christ-centered institution of higher education committed to equipping people with the knowledge to serve Christ and build their nations. We seek academic leaders who are committed to educational excellence, student learning and graduate competence, faculty development, and continuous improvement.

A position is currently available in Nursing.

Position Summary
The Academic Department Chair provides academic and administrative leadership for the department while continuing to serve as a faculty member. The Chair works collaboratively with faculty and administration to improve graduate competence, strengthen curriculum and instruction, support faculty development, and advance the mission of the College.

The Academic Department Chair provides academic and administrative leadership to the department, ensuring the quality and integrity of its educational, research, and service missions. As a faculty leader and administrative manager, the Chair supports curriculum development, faculty development, student learning and graduate competence, and alignment with institutional goals.

Key Responsibilities
Provide academic and administrative leadership to the department.
Support continuous improvement of curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
Mentor and evaluate faculty.
Promote academic integrity and professional conduct.
Support accreditation and compliance efforts.
Foster collaboration among faculty, students, and administration.
Maintain effective departmental operations and reporting.

Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree in the discipline or a closely related field.
College or university teaching experience.
Evidence of leadership, initiative, and professional responsibility.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to student learning and educational quality.

Preferred Qualifications
Academic leadership experience.
Curriculum development and assessment experience.
Faculty mentoring experience.
Experience with accreditation or quality assurance processes.
Evidence of professional development and scholarship.

The Administration of Liberia International Christian College (LICC) wishes to inform all students, faculty, and staff of the official launch of the Institutional Strengthening and Administrative Improvement Assessment Survey.

This survey is hosted on Google Forms and is designed specifically for LICC community members. It forms a vital part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen administrative systems, improve governance and accountability, support policy development, enhance service delivery, and guide future strategic planning initiatives.
The survey officially opened on Monday, June 1, 2026, and will remain active until Wednesday, June 10, 2026.

All students, faculty, and staff members are strongly encouraged to participate in this important exercise. The Google Form link has been shared across all five departmental chatrooms, the general students’ chatroom, and the staff communication channels.

Kindly help spread this information to your colleagues and ensure their active participation before the deadline. Your feedback, suggestions, and recommendations will provide valuable insights that directly contribute to the continuous improvement, growth, and advancement of our institution.

‎During the Agriculture Department Day Program held on May 23, 2026, Mr. Gboko attended as a special guest to honor the department from which he graduated. During the event, he pledged to donate five wall fans to support the department.
‎
‎True to his word, Mr. Gboko fulfilled his promise on Thursday by officially donating the five wall fans to the Agriculture Department. The items were received by the Department President, H.E. Bill Gbou, on behalf of the leadership team.
‎
‎Receiving the donation, H.E. Bill Gbou expressed heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Gboko for his generous gesture and assured that the items would be carefully used for their intended purpose. He also encouraged other alumni to emulate such meaningful contributions toward the growth and improvement of the department.

‎This act of generosity reflects the true spirit of service, commitment, and giving back to one’s alma mater.
