MENI NINA CLASS OF 2019/2020
UNIVERSITY OF LIBERIA

The leadership of this noble class has been working after graduation and we would like to inform you of the following:
1. The Year Book contract has been signed and the vendor has received the first payment from the administration. The production has begun and we are anticipating the books in 3 months prior to the payment of the first installment which was done this month.
2. Degree
We are yet to announce the date that the collection of degree will begin, however, we would like to inform you that the degrees have been printed and they are on the next phase to receive the required signatures. We hope that administration will announce the distribution date as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, we encourage graduates to collect their official transcripts and their Letters of Attestation from OES. Procedure regarding this process was posted on this page in March.
3. Now that the other issues concerning documents and the Year Book are on path, the leadership has resumed discussions with the Office of Student Affairs on our class project, WELCOME ARC at Fendall Campus.
Not even a cent has been taken from the class project funds by the leadership so we are more hopeful that we will finalize discussion with administration about the implementation plan of the project as it was partially approved before graduation.
4. The Office of Fiscal and Financial Affairs informed us that 82% of graduates paid graduation fees which amounted to approximately 2,715 persons during the completion of the Year Book Contract that was signed by the leadership, Office of Student Affairs and Office of Fiscal and Financial Affairs.
Administration can only give what they collected from the graduates; therefore, the more graduates pay, the more money allotted to our projects.
5. Documentary Project:
Our documentary project has been halted due to lack of funds. We didn’t get more funds during the launching of the project which was poorly attended by students. We have made initial payment of about 45 % to Libpedia but we are yet to raise funds to complete the project. This documentary project is not a traditional project in the history of the university so it has been a struggle to get support as it is not included in the graduation fees. However, we have completed the interview of students, the coverage of the graduation ceremony, the interview of the leadership but we are yet to complete the interview of administrators.
6. Ring
The price of the Meni Nina Ring has been reduced to $15 US. More information concerning how to make your purchase will follow.
6. Souvenir Package:
The distribution of the souvenir package was successful as no one complains of shortage in items and difficulty in access. Thanks to administration for agreeing to pre-finance the payment which without that timely and unique souvenir would not have been successful.
The administration procured for 3,500 packages based on the projection of OES. But, 3,312 students graduated according to President Nelson during his address. This means we should have 188 additional packages that students won’t pay for which become our liability of $19,928 US. This might further increase if all graduates do not pay.
The pre finance and projection helped all of us from the stress that past classes endured but we also shoulder the liability. Every thing has advantages and disadvantages.
It is important that we convey all these to you so that you can know how far we have gone and what we need to do to complete the legacy of our class.
Ultimately, we want to sincerely inform you that the pace at which we were working has reduced since we graduated so we might not be as fast as expected due to myriad of obvious reasons. Notwithstanding, If we cannot run, we will walk; if we cannot walk, we will crawl. We assure you that we will keep moving this class interest forward no matter what.
Thanks for your patience and confidence.
Signed: Mr. Thomas N. Gmawlue, Jr
Secretary General
