🚨 AME University and LICPA Forge Landmark Partnership to Transform Accounting Education in Liberia! 🚨
AME University (AMEU) has reached another major milestone in its commitment to academic excellence and professional development through the signing of a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Liberia Institute of Certified Public Accountants (LICPA). This strategic collaboration brings together one of Liberia’s leading institutions of higher learning and the country’s premier professional accounting body to strengthen accounting education, enhance professional standards, and prepare the next generation of financial leaders.
Through this partnership, AMEU’s accounting curriculum will be aligned with the Accounting Technicians Scheme West Africa (ATSWA) standards, providing students with a stronger pathway to professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Chartered Accountant (CA). For LICPA, the partnership advances its mission of promoting excellence, integrity, and competence within the accounting profession by expanding access to professional accounting education and nurturing a pipeline of highly skilled accountants for Liberia and the region.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, AMEU President Dr. Alvin E. Attah described the agreement as a transformative step that will bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice, while LICPA President Papin Daniels praised AMEU’s vision and commitment to developing future accountants and technocrats.
The partnership will also strengthen the capacity of AMEU’s accounting faculty through professional oversight, technical support, mentorship, and examination preparation, creating lasting benefits for students, educators, the accounting profession, and Liberia’s broader economic development. Together, AMEU and LICPA are investing in a future where Liberian accountants are equipped to compete, lead, and excel on the national, regional, and global stage.
