Post: House Mother position

From our beloved ‘m’e Thamahane’s words during the dialogue!
Discussions were on the following:
- Volatility is lived daily in communities. How can nurses respond to shifting social determinants such as employment, safety, or quality of care?
- Uncertainty in public trust was evident during COVID19. What strategies can nurses use to counter misinformation and strengthen confidence in health systems?
- Complexity emerges when technology intersects with culture. How can AIdriven health apps be introduced while ensuring equity and accessibility?
- Ambiguity requires cultural sensitivity. How can nurses build trust when introducing digital health solutions to populations that may be skeptical?

We are deeply saddened by the passing of ‘m’e ‘Makatiso Lucia Mabaleha (07/04/1964 – 30/05/2026), our esteemed alumnus and beloved mother of our colleague.
We extend our heartfelt condolences, thoughts, and prayers to the Mabaleha family, and all their loved ones during this difficult time. May you find comfort, peace, and strength in each other and in the Almighty.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18

Please join us in celebrating Mr Metsing, as he steps into a vital and deeply impactful role as our new House Father.
In this role, he will be the cornerstone of support for our male students living on campus. From guiding their self-study sessions to mentoring their daily well-being, he will be there every step of the way as these young men journey toward becoming the next generation of compassionate Nurses and Midwives.
Not to forget that they will ‘laugh their lungs out’ any chance he gets and he will surely guide their spirituality meaningfully!
