Today’s HIIT session brought together a select group of Cho Dan Bos and Black Belts, and it was inspiring to see everyone pushing themselves through four demanding rounds with determination, discipline, and teamwork.
While sessions like these help improve cardiovascular fitness, endurance, strength, and mental resilience, they are really about something much bigger.
One of the greatest benefits of Tang Soo Do is that it brings people together. When someone joins our dojang, they are not simply learning techniques or preparing for gradings. They begin a journey that slowly shapes their lifestyle. Month after month and year after year, the principles of martial arts naturally guide students toward better physical fitness, stronger character, greater self-discipline, and a healthier way of life.
Tang Soo Do is about training the mind, body, and spirit. It is about encouraging one another, sharing challenges, and growing together as a community.
Today’s HIIT session was a perfect example of that spirit. Everyone worked hard, supported each other, and refused to quit when things became difficult. The sweat, effort, and determination shown today are the same qualities that help us improve both inside and outside the dojang.
This is what martial arts is all about not just becoming stronger as individuals, but becoming stronger together.

Today we celebrate the birthday of a truly remarkable leader, Grandmaster S. Nar.
Grandmaster Nar has dedicated his life to the growth and preservation of Tang Soo Do, inspiring generations of students through his wisdom, humility, and amazing commitment to the art. As the leader of the European Tang Soo Do Federation, (European I.M.A) he has guided countless practitioners, not only as a martial artist, but as a mentor and role model.
To many of us, Grandmaster Nar is far more than a teacher. He has been a father figure to Master Wallace and a source of strength, guidance, and inspiration to our entire Tang Soo Do family. His leadership has helped shape the lives of so many students across Europe and beyond.
I am especially grateful that Grandmaster Nar officiated my wedding, making one of the most important days of my life even more meaningful. It is a memory that I will always cherish.
On behalf of all of us whose lives have been touched by his teachings and leadership, I would like to wish Grandmaster Nar a very happy birthday. May your day be filled with happiness, good health, and the love and respect of the many people whose lives you have enriched through Tang Soo Do.
Happy Birthday, Grandmaster Nar! Thank you for your leadership, your guidance, and for being an inspiration to us all.
Tang Soo!

Tang Soo Il Shim
ETSDF 1986-2026- 40th Anniversary celebratory event. European (IMA) IL SHIM group .Special three days of intensive training for group members (all Yuk and Chil Dan's respectively) 19th October to 21st October. Venue-Scotland. Tangsoo/IL SHIM.
The more time you invest in your students, the more they grow, not just as martial artists, but as people.
Today, some of our black belts joined me for an additional HIIT training session. Extra workouts are not always welcomed at first. Naturally, students see them as tiring, challenging, and sometimes uncomfortable. But that is part of the martial arts journey. A martial artist understands that growth rarely comes from comfort.
Fitness is one of the most important foundations of Tang Soo Do. Better fitness means better endurance, faster recovery, greater power, improved focus, stronger mental resilience, and the ability to maintain good technique under pressure. It allows students to push beyond what they thought was possible.
As fitness improves, so does understanding. What once felt like a burden becomes a tool. What once felt exhausting becomes empowering.
More importantly, we train as a community. We encourage each other, challenge each other, and grow together. Every drop of sweat shared builds stronger bonds between students and creates an environment where everyone can improve.
This traditional mindset comes directly from our leader, Grandmaster S Nar, who continues to train the old way, with discipline, consistency, hard work, and a commitment to continual self-improvement. We proudly follow those principles in our dojang.
Martial arts is not about finding the easiest path. It is about developing the character to walk the harder one.
“Skill may earn a belt, but fitness, discipline, and perseverance determine how far that belt can take you.”
What an unforgettable weekend for our family and our Tang Soo Do journey.
On Friday, Grandmaster S. Nar officiated our wedding (photos and videos to follow), making one of the most important days of our lives even more meaningful. Today, he gave us another moment we will never forget.
In front of our senior members and black belts, Grandmaster S. Nar presented Natalie C. Wallace with her black belt ,a truly special and emotional way to celebrate our union within the dojang family.
Grandmaster S. Nar has always been there for us with guidance, support, discipline, and wisdom, and words cannot fully express the gratitude and respect we have for him. Thank you, Grandmaster, for everything you continue to do for us both inside and outside the dojang.
A huge thank you as well to all the black belts and Cho Can Bo’s who came to train today in the blistering Malta heat from 7:30–9:30. The session started with a hard physical and run that Grandmaster definitely pushed us through, followed by an incredible technical class focused on basics and advanced sparring drills.
Days like today remind us that Tang Soo Do is more than martial arts ,it is family, tradition, discipline, and lifelong bonds.
Kamsahamnida, Grandmaster S. Nar.

Tonight was a truly special pre-wedding dinner surrounded by the people who have shaped so much of my journey , my Kwan Kang Nim, fellow Masters, students, and the original Master who guided me to Black Belt.
Sharing this evening together before such an important moment in my life meant more than words can express. I am deeply grateful for the support, friendship, guidance, and brotherhood that each of you has given me throughout the years.
A special thank you to Valerio and his lovely wife for travelling all the way from Italy to celebrate this special time with us. Your presence made the evening even more meaningful.
To everyone who came tonight, thank you from the bottom of my heart. These are memories I will carry with me forever. Tang Soo Do is more than training , it is family. 🙏🏻
