๐ŸŒฟ MWICA FIELD DAY HIGHLIGHTS โ€“ 28 NOVEMBER 2025 ๐ŸŒฟ

Yesterday, Friday 28th November, Mwimba College of Agriculture successfully hosted a Bio-Fertiliser Field Day under the theme โ€œInnovating for Productivity: The Power of Bio-Fertilisers.โ€ The event was graced by all three key stakeholders โ€” Saju, Tokyo Global, and Supergrow โ€” alongside representatives from the Kasungu District Agriculture Office, various community farmers, students, MWICA staff, and members of the media.

The Guest of Honour, our Principal, Dr. Trinitas Senganimalunje delivered an insightful and well-received address, emphasising the importance of collaboration in driving Malawiโ€™s agricultural transformation and the relevance of these innovations to Malawi Vision 2063.

Participants toured the demonstration plots, and farmers expressed satisfaction with the overall performance of the maize under all three bio-fertiliser treatments. The photos below speak for themselves โ€” each plot showed promising growth and strong crop vigour, reflecting the potential of these technologies.

As this is a relatively new innovation in the area, farmers raised important questions regarding efficacy, safety, expected yields, application schedules, and long-term benefits. These concerns were thoroughly addressed by the technical teams, and by the end of the session, attendees left confident and eager to explore the use of bio-fertilisers in their own fields.

MWICA remains committed to promoting practical, research-based solutions that uplift farming communities. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to making this Field Day a great success. Together, we continue advancing agricultural productivity and knowledge in Malawi. ๐ŸŒฑ

From Vision to Action: MWICA and NCE Sign a Transformative Partnership

At Mwimba College of Agriculture, we aspire to be a leading centre in providing responsive training in agriculture and rural development for the development of the agro-industry.

Today, we took a bold step towards this vision by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nalikule College of Education. This partnership opens opportunities for joint research, staff exchange, student learning experiences, curriculum innovation, and community outreach.

As MWICA, we remain committed to empowering Malawians through practical, innovative, and sustainable agriculture. Together with NCE, we are building a future where knowledge meets practice, and learning drives transformation.

The seed has been planted โ€” and the future looks promising.
