Meet the Speaker: Dr. Biniam Teshome

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Biniam Teshome, a Public Health Specialist and Health Systems Researcher with extensive experience across Southern and Eastern Africa, to our upcoming Pathways to Excellence Webinar.

Dr. Teshome led Malawi’s First Nationally Representative People’s Voice Survey (PVS), generating critical insights into how Malawians perceive the quality, accessibility, and responsiveness of the health system.

His work spans Quality Improvement, Guideline Development, and implementation research, with a strong focus on strengthening patient-centred care.

He has contributed to major national initiatives, including the development of Quality Standards, QI curricula, and Outbreak Response Guidelines, and continues to support Evidence-Based Policymaking and Sustainable Health System Strengthening.

In this webinar, Dr. Teshome will present Malawi’s PVS findings and highlight how the results compare with trends from other African countries.
