🌍🤝 Strengthening Partnerships for the Future of Higher Education!
The Department of Agri-Sciences at Mzuzu University is delighted to host a mobility meeting under the SEED Project, bringing together esteemed partners: Maynooth University, Ireland; University of Naples Federico II, Italy; Mulungushi and Kwame Nkrumah Universities, Zambia; and Livingstonia University, Malawi.
📚✨ The meeting will be conducted from 15-19 June and will focus on advancing discussions around microcredentials and their role in equipping learners with relevant, flexible, and industry-responsive skills for the modern world.
A key highlight of the meeting will be the engagement of Malawi's National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) to explore opportunities to develop a national framework for the regulation and recognition of microcredentials. This important dialogue aims to support innovation in higher education and enhance lifelong learning opportunities in Malawi and beyond.
🌱 Through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and partnership, the SEED Project continues to contribute to strengthening higher education systems and building capacity for sustainable development.
We look forward to productive discussions, meaningful exchanges, and impactful outcomes from this important gathering.

📢 Publication Alert!
Congratulations to Thaddeus Zaabwe, Elias Chirwa, Kumbukani Mzengereza, Jeremiah Kang'ombe, Georges Alunga Lufungula, Milliam Nakawoombe, and Joshua Kimeli on the publication of their research examining the effects of incorporating exogenous Bacillus probiotics into diets containing black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens) larval meal for sex-reversed fingerlings of Redbreasted tilapia (Coptodon rendalli).
This study demonstrates how probiotic supplementation can significantly improve growth performance, hepatosomatic and viscerosomatic indices, and overall morphometric development of Redbreasted tilapia fed on black soldier fly larval meal-based diets. The findings contribute valuable knowledge toward sustainable aquaculture by promoting innovative, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective fish nutrition strategies.
The research highlights the potential of combining insect-based protein sources with beneficial probiotics to enhance fish production efficiency while supporting sustainable food systems and aquaculture development.
👏 Congratulations to the research team on this remarkable achievement!
