Latest news from the Sultan Ahmad Shah Maritime Academy, Kuantan (AMSAS), all participants in the program conducted in collaboration with CTME, PUO, namely Engineer Officer Course < 750 kW Domestic and Near Coastal Trade Voyage Series 10 No. 1 / 2026 have passed the oral test conducted by the Malaysia Marine Department. Well done.

Presentation of the latest status of the Marine Engineering & Technology TVET Collaboration Hub to the Director General of the Department of Polytechnic & Community College Education, Malaysia, YBrs Dr. Shamsuri bin Abdullah. The presentation took place at the Workshop on Status Determination and Gap Analysis of the Results of the Feasibility Study on the Rationalization of the TVET Collaboration Hub (TCH) Program, Pearl Kuala Lumpur, Hotel from 20-22 May 2026. He completed the Combined Class Chief and Second Engineer Unlimited Trade Voyages program at CTME, PUO last year. Now he continues his duties as a marine engineer in addition to being a little ambassador of Malaysia to the world. Now he is in Alaska heading to Shanghai. Good luck Dzul. Alhamdulillah, the Engineer Officer Course < 750 kW Domestic and Near Coastal Trade Voyage Series 10 No. 1 / 2026, which was conducted in collaboration between the Sultan Ahmad Shah Maritime Academy (AMSAS) and the Centre of Technology in Marine Engineering (CTME), PUO, has been completed today. On 07 April 2026, a Mock Oral session was also held by CTME experts, Mr. Mohd Shahrir bin Ali and Mr. Amrul Zani bin Mahadi to guide, creating confidence, boost their understanding for participants of the Engineer Officer Course < 750 kW Domestic and Near Coastal Trade Voyage Series 10 No. 1 / 2026 Akademi Maritim Sultan Ahmad Shah (AMSAS). On the evening of 07 April 2026, a meeting was held to welcome the Courtesy Visit to CTME, Ungku Omar Polytechnic by a Royal Malaysian Navy delegation to discuss the potential for strategic cooperation between the Royal Malaysian Navy and Ungku Omar Polytechnic through the Specialised Diploma Acquisition Scheme (DTK) program. The Royal Malaysian Navy delegation was led by Laksamana Ts. Rozaide bin Megat Othman together with Kdr Ir. Mohammad Azrul bin Ahmad TLDM and Lt Kdr Ts. Mohd Adie bin Ab Halim TLDM.

This morning, 07 April 2026, a meeting was held to welcome the courtesy visit of the Head of the Maritime Operations Studies and Development Cluster, Sultan Ahmad Shah Maritime Academy Maritime Sultan Ahmad Shah to CTME. The delegation was led by Captain (M) Nor Bakari bin Abu Bakar who was newly appointed to the position in February 2026. His visit aimed to obtain clarification from CTME, PUO about the progress of the program and activities so far for both parties, as well as the potential to create new programs together in the future. The delegation was also taken to tour CTME's workshop and facilities.

Alhamdulillah. A very valuable recognition for Ungku Omar Polytechnic through the Department of Marine Engineering and the Centre of Technology in Marine Engineering, CTME as a professional certification centre for the OICEW, CCSU and BETO Programmes.
