I understand the concerns about security, public services, and social harmony. Every country has the right to manage these issues.
However, it is important not to judge an entire community based on the actions of a few individuals. Most Rohingya refugees did not leave their homes by choice. They fled persecution, violence, and a lack of basic rights.
If any refugee commits a crime, that individual should be held accountable under the law. But blaming all Rohingya for the actions of some people is neither fair nor helpful.
Malaysia can address refugee-related challenges while still treating people with dignity and humanity. Security concerns and compassion can exist together.

Every community has good people and bad people. It is unfair to judge millions of Rohingya based on the actions of a few individuals. Many Rohingya were forced to flee violence, persecution, and discrimination. Calling for the "total extinguishment" of any people is not a solution. Peace, justice, and respect for human rights are the only ways to build a better future for everyone.

4 Important Rules Employers in Malaysia Must Follow
1. The King’s Birthday is a compulsory paid public holiday
Under Malaysian labour law, Monday, 1 June 2026, which is the official Birthday of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (King of Malaysia), is a compulsory paid public holiday for all private sector employers. This holiday cannot be replaced with another day.
2. A replacement holiday must be given for Wesak Day
For companies that observe Sunday as the weekly rest day and also recognise Wesak Day as a public holiday, 1 June 2026 must still be given as the King’s Birthday holiday. Since Wesak Day falls on Sunday, 31 May 2026, employers must provide Tuesday, 2 June 2026 as a replacement public holiday.
3. The replacement holiday can be changed by mutual agreement
The replacement holiday for Wesak Day on Tuesday, 2 June 2026 may be substituted with another day if both the employer and employee agree.
4. Employees who work on public holidays must receive extra pay
Employees earning RM4,000 and below, as well as employees covered under the Employment Act 1955, are entitled to higher holiday pay if they are required to work on a public holiday. They may receive 2 times or 3 times their normal wages depending on the situation. Overtime pay must also be paid separately if they work extra hours.

တနင်္ဂနွေနေ့ကို နားရက်အဖြစ်သတ်မှတ်ထားပြီး ဝီဆက်နေ့ကိုလည်း ပိတ်ရက်အဖြစ်ပေးတဲ့ ကုမ္ပဏီတွေအနေနဲ့ ဇွန်လ ၁ ရက်နေ့ကို ဘုရင်မွေးနေ့ပိတ်ရက်အဖြစ် ထားရမယ်။ ၂၀၂၆ ခုနှစ် မေလ ၃၁ ရက် တနင်္ဂနွေနေ့မှာ ကျတဲ့ ဝီဆက်နေ့အတွက် ဇွန်လ ၂ ရက် အင်္ဂါနေ့ကို အစားထိုးပိတ်ရက်အဖြစ် ထပ်ပေးရမယ်။
၃။ အစားထိုးပိတ်ရက်ကို ညှိနှိုင်းပြောင်းလို့ရတယ်
ဇွန်လ ၂ ရက် အင်္ဂါနေ့မှာ ပေးရမယ့် ဝီဆက်နေ့ အစားထိုးပိတ်ရက်ကို အလုပ်ရှင်နဲ့ အလုပ်သမား နှစ်ဦးသဘောတူညီရင် တခြားနေ့ရက်တစ်ခုနဲ့ ပြောင်းလဲသတ်မှတ်လို့ရတယ်။
၄။ ပိတ်ရက်အလုပ်ဆင်းရင် လစာပိုပေးရမယ်
လစာ ရင်းဂစ် ၄၀၀၀ နဲ့အောက် ရတဲ့အလုပ်သမားတွေ၊ အလုပ်သမားဥပဒေမှာ ပြဌာန်းထားတဲ့ အလုပ်သမားတွေ ပိတ်ရက်မှာ အလုပ်ဆင်းရရင် ပိတ်ရက်လုပ်ခအဖြစ် ပုံမှန်လစာရဲ့ ၂ဆ သို့မဟုတ် ၃ဆ ခံစားခွင့်ရှိတယ်။ အချိန်ပိုလုပ်ရင် အိုတီကြေးသီးသန့်ထပ်ပေးရမယ်။ #

For many years, Malaysia has been seen as one of the few places where refugees from Myanmar could seek safety and protection. Especially for Rohingya refugees, who were forced to flee genocide, violence, discrimination, and statelessness in Myanmar, Malaysia became a place of hope when they had nowhere else to go.
The presence and role of UNHCR in Malaysia became important because thousands of Rohingya refugees arrived without protection, without citizenship, and without basic human rights. Many escaped by risking their lives, crossing borders and seas simply to survive.
Today, however, many refugees and members of the public are becoming deeply concerned about the current situation.
There is a growing feeling among Rohingya refugees that the people who were supposed to receive urgent protection are now being left behind, while many individuals who entered Malaysia with passports and legal travel documents are receiving UNHCR recognition more easily. This has created confusion, sadness, and a deep sense of unfairness among vulnerable refugee communities.
At the same time, many Rohingya refugees are being arrested day by day across Malaysia. Entire families are being detained together — including small children, pregnant women, elderly people, and people with disabilities. These are not just numbers or headlines. These are human lives filled with fear, uncertainty, and suffering.
Many refugees are asking painful questions: Does UNHCR not hear their cries? Do they not see what is happening? Or are these realities being ignored in silence?
The refugee community is becoming more heartbroken because while many genuine Rohingya refugees remain without proper protection, there are increasing concerns that some people who are not truly refugees are receiving recognition under the Rohingya refugee identity. As a result, the real victims of genocide and statelessness are being left exposed, vulnerable, and unprotected.
When genuine refugees lose access to protection, the consequences are devastating. Families live in constant fear of arrest, detention, separation, and abuse. Children grow up without safety or education. Mothers carry fear instead of hope. Vulnerable people who escaped persecution are once again forced to live without dignity or security.
We fully understand that every human being facing danger deserves compassion and protection regardless of ethnicity or background. This is not a message of hatred against any nationality or community. Instead, it is a respectful appeal asking UNHCR and the Malaysian public to remember the original humanitarian purpose behind refugee protection.
Rohingya refugees are among the most vulnerable stateless people in the world. Many still live in fear, poverty, detention risks, lack of education, and lack of healthcare access. Some families have waited for years without clear answers, documentation, or proper protection.
We respectfully urge UNHCR to listen carefully to the voices of the real refugee community and to act with fairness, transparency, and humanity. Silence in the face of suffering only deepens the pain of those who already lost everything.
We also ask the Malaysian public to understand the difficult reality faced by refugees who have no country, no passport, and no safe place to return to.
This is not about creating division. It is about asking for humanity, fairness, and equal attention toward those who are suffering silently.
Every refugee deserves dignity. Every vulnerable person deserves protection. And no community should feel forgotten.
We hope the voices of refugees will be heard with compassion and justice.
