Jabatan Industri Kayu dan Gentian, Fakulti Perhutanan dan Alam Sekitar, Universiti Putra Malaysia telah menganjurkan program World Wood Day 2026 pada 21 Mei 2026 sebagai platform memperkukuh kesedaran terhadap kepentingan penggunaan kayu secara lestari demi masa depan yang lebih hijau dan berdaya tahan.

Melalui tema “Sustainable Wood, Circular Future”, program ini mengetengahkan peranan kayu sebagai sumber semula jadi yang menyokong inovasi, ekonomi kitaran dan pembangunan mampan untuk generasi akan datang.

Pelbagai aktiviti menarik telah diadakan termasuk webinar antarabangsa, bengkel DIY serta pameran inovasi dari agensi dan industri berasaskan kayu di Malaysia.

Setinggi-tinggi penghargaan sekali lagi diucapkan kepada Malaysian Timber Council - MTC , Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation, Persatuan Pengusaha Kayu Kayan dan Perabot Bumiputra Malaysia - PEKA, Majlis Bandaraya Subang Jaya, MPP MPSJ Zon 20 dan Woodkare, University of the Philippines Los Baños, Kyungpook National University, Persatuan Pemulihan Orang-orang Cacat Selangor, Pusat Strategi dan Perhubungan Korporat - PSPK UPM, Pusat Pertanian Putra, iDEC UPM World Wood Day atas sokongan dalam menjayakan program ini.

21 May 2026 Persatuan Pemulihan Orang-Orang Cacat Selangor & Wilayah Persekutuan (PPOC) had the opportunity to join the Compost Workshop and Wood Turning activity in conjunction with World Wood Day, organised by the Faculty of Forestry and Environment, Universiti Putra Malaysia. 🌱🪵 It was a meaningful experience for our participants to learn about sustainability, creativity, and environmental awareness through hands-on activities.
