It takes more than technology to build an AI super-ecosystem.
Many of the technologies needed to transform industries already exist today. The bigger question is: how quickly can emerging markets like Malaysia adapt, localise, and scale them within their own economy? 📈
At FutureX Ventures Fest 2026, Mohd Azharuddin Mat Sah from Sunway Group, Yichen (Chris) Mao from CICC, and Kevin Shum from Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad explored what it takes to turn AI ambition into real economic impact during the panel session “Building an AI Super-Ecosystem: Can Malaysia Become Southeast Asia’s Silicon Valley?”, moderated by Indranil Sarkar from OpenAI. 🌊
The discussion highlighted that building an AI ecosystem requires more than innovation: it requires industry, capital, and institutions working toward the same direction.

Chaos creates bigger winners, but also faster wipeouts.
That was one of the central themes explored during the fireside chat "Chaos Markets: Bigger Wins for VCs, or Faster Wipeouts?" at FutureX Venture Fest 2026. 🌊📈
Featuring Tim Cruttenden, CEO of VenCap, and moderated by Karen Lau, COO of Sunway iLabs, the session explored how AI is fuelling both excitement and uncertainty across venture capital markets.
As AI cycles move faster and long-term forecasting becomes increasingly difficult, investors are being pushed to rethink how they approach risk, diversification and survival in volatile markets.
In chaotic markets, survival belongs less to whoever moves fastest, and more to whoever stays disciplined longest.

“What if we could start healthcare from scratch in the AI era?”
That was the central question explored during the panel session on AI capabilities in healthcare systems at FutureX Ventures Fest 2026. 🌊 🌴
Featuring insights from Teodor Stoev of Harrison.ai, Lau Shi Ying of Adaptive Capital Partners, Dr. Raymond Choy of HEYDOC Health, and moderated by Nur Syimah Izzah of AstraZeneca Malaysia, the discussion unpacked how the future of healthcare may depend not only on advances in AI itself, but also on whether healthcare systems are ready to evolve alongside it.
As AI capabilities continue to accelerate, the question may no longer be whether the technology is ready, but whether healthcare systems are prepared to rethink how care is delivered, experienced, and scaled.

Software is becoming dramatically cheaper to create. 🤔 ❓
That was one of the defining ideas explored during the fireside chat, “AI in 2026: The Breakthroughs Nobody Predicted… and the Ones We Still Don’t See Coming” at FutureX Ventures Fest 2026. 🌊
Featuring Michel A. Del Buono, Operating Partner & Chief Investment Officer of Andreessen Horowitz (a16z Perennial), and Thomas Jeng, Head of Startups, APAC at OpenAI, the discussion unpacked how AI is beginning to reshape the economics of building, scaling, and competing.
The rise of “disposable software” could fundamentally change startup ecosystems, investment strategies, and the future of innovation itself.
As AI tools become cheaper, more powerful, and increasingly accessible, the people who benefit most from this shift may simply be the ones willing to start tinkering.
