What happens when future designers step into a space filled with stories, perspectives, and possibilities?

As part of the Level 6 co/exist series, our students from the BA (Hons) Fashion Management and Communication, Graphic Design, and Interior Architecture & Design programmes, in collaboration with Sheffield Hallam University, visited UR-MU @ Toffee in Raja Chulan.

Surrounded by over 200 contemporary artworks, they explored how art can inspire dialogue, challenge perspectives, and spark new ways of thinking. The experience also supported their Do Good Design! project, where students develop SDG-driven proposals aimed at creating meaningful community impact through multidisciplinary collaboration.

Final-year BA (Hons) Graphic Design 3+0 students, in collaboration with Sheffield Hallam University, stepped into the dynamic world of advertising during their visit to Naga DDB Tribal.

Through an inspiring sharing session led by Alexi, Head of Copy, students gained valuable insights into creative communication, brand storytelling, and the realities of agency life. They also participated in a mini pitch workshop, collaborating to develop and present ideas in a professional agency-style environment.

The experience provided students with a valuable opportunity to apply their creative thinking, strengthen their presentation skills, and gain first-hand exposure to industry practices.

A heartfelt thank you to Naga DDB Tribal for warmly welcoming our students and sharing valuable insights that will inspire them as they prepare for their future creative careers.

Aligned with SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), the visit strengthened connections between academia and industry while providing meaningful professional learning experiences.

Our Certificate in Art and Design students had an enjoyable first outdoor sketching experience at the National Botanic Gardens Shah Alam! 🌿🎨

During this half-day activity, students explored the beautiful landscape, observed nature firsthand, and translated their observations into sketches. It was a refreshing learning experience outside the classroom, and everyone had a great time developing their drawing skills while enjoying the natural environment.

There’s beauty, and then there’s beauty with purpose.

This week, our BFMC students stepped into Ordinary Hydration Lab Pop-Up at Godown Arts Centre, Kuala Lumpur an immersive experience where skincare became a lesson in exhibition storytelling. Through interactive zones and engaging brand touchpoints, students explored how creativity, communication, and experiential design come together to shape memorable consumer journeys.

As future fashion and brand communicators, they observed, analysed, and documented what makes an exhibition meaningful, engaging, and impactful.

And of course, no beauty adventure is complete without a little play and a few adorable custom charms to remember the day by.

A big thank you to Jeremy Mark, Art Director at Pounce Agency, for sharing an inspiring talk, ‘Keeping Your Sanity in the Midst of Chaos.’

Your honest reflections, experiences, and insights on navigating the challenges of the creative industry were truly meaningful and invaluable to our students from the BA (Hons) Graphic Design 3+0 and BA (Hons) Fashion Management & Communication 3+0 programmes, in collaboration with Sheffield Hallam University.

Thank you for reminding our students that resilience, adaptability, and passion are essential to surviving and thriving in the ever-changing creative landscape.

From 5 to 7 June, Sustainable Future 3.0 took place at Megah Rise Mall. This student-led bazaar brought together creativity, collaboration, and a shared purpose.

Led by lecturer Ms Ally Cher, the event featured students from INTI ICAD’s Diploma in Graphic Design, Diploma in Immersive Design, and BA (Hons) Graphic Design 3+0 (in collaboration with SHU) programmes. Working across disciplines, each student group contributed in their own way, transforming ideas into meaningful outcomes.

With the support of Creative Co., led by Goh Suet Lin and Khairul Anwar, who oversaw the visual identity and merchandise, the space came together through thoughtful planning and collective effort behind the scenes.

The event was proudly officiated by our Dean, Ms Ang Tong Yin, alongside Ms Hamizah from Greenpeace and representatives from the Megah Rise Mall team. Their opening remarks served as a reminder of the importance of initiatives like these, especially when driven by students.

The bazaar successfully raised RM1,000 in support of Greenpeace.

More than the amount raised, it was the experience, the conversations sparked around sustainability, and the people involved that made the event truly memorable.

From brainstorming ideas to delivering the final pitch, our students got a taste of what it’s really like to work on creative projects in the industry, client briefs, feedback sessions, negotiations, tight deadlines, and solving problems on the spot.

A huge thank you to Mughni Che Din for sharing his experiences, insights, and valuable advice with our students. It was an eye-opening session filled with practical lessons and honest conversations about the creative world.

Proud of the ideas, effort, and teamwork shown throughout the bootcamp. Here‘s to more learning, creating, and growing together.

Until next time!
