*EID UL-ADHA CELEBRATION MESSAGE*
*1447 AH / 2026 CE*
As-Salaam Alaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh. 🌟
All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. May His peace and blessings be upon our noble Prophet Muhammad (ď·ş), his household, his companions, and all believers who follow his path until the Day of Accountability.
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Islam,
The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN) extends heartfelt Eid ul-Adha greetings to all Muslims across the country and beyond. May Allah (SWT) accept our acts of worship, sacrifices, supplications, and devotion during these honored days of Dhul Hijjah—the best days known to mankind. 🙏
Eid ul-Adha is more than a celebration; it embodies faith, obedience, and unwavering submission to our Creator, Allah. We reflect on the life of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his noble son Isma'il (AS). As we contemplate their trials, let us renew our commitment to submission, sacrifice, and sincerity to our Lord.
These first ten days of Dhul Hijjah present a divine opportunity to reconnect with our Creator through fasting, prayer, dhikr (remembrance), sadaqah, and the noble act of Qurbani (sacrifice). Let us maximize these precious moments by multiplying our good deeds and seeking Allah’s mercy, especially in times of economic hardship, insecurity, and moral challenges. 🤲
Fellow Muslims, our beloved Nigeria needs our sincere prayers and positive action. As we face trials—be it inflation, instability, corruption, banditry, or disunity—we must remain patient and steadfast. Let us not lose hope. We should continue to pray for our leaders, advise them sincerely, and act as responsible citizens guided by Islamic values. 🇳🇬
Eid is also a time of unity—a time to share with family, friends, neighbors, and especially the needy. Let no Muslim in our midst feel forgotten. May the spirit of brotherhood and compassion define our Eid celebrations. 🤝
We beseech Allah to:
- Accept the Hajj of our brothers and sisters who have undertaken this sacred journey;
- Bring peace, prosperity, and justice to our beloved Nigeria;
- Grant ease to the oppressed, guidance to our leaders, and unity to the Ummah;
- Bless our homes with love, our hearts with faith, and our lives with purpose.
We extend our condolences to the Federal Government, as well as the Oyo and Kwara State Governments, for the loss of lives and properties during the recent kidnappings of schoolchildren and staff, along with other acts of banditry. May Allah strengthen the efforts of the Nigerian Forces against all forms of evil and criminality.
As we return from the Eid ground and sacrifice our animals, let us also strive to eliminate arrogance, envy, dishonesty, and heedlessness from our hearts. Let us rise as true Abdullahs (servants of Allah) committed to uplifting society through Islam.
Taqabbalallahu Minna Wa Minkum. Eid Mubarak! 🎉
May your celebration be filled with joy, love, and the light of iman.
WasSalaam Alaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh. 🌺

PRESS RELEASE
16th May, 2026
MSSN CONDEMNS CONTINUED FAILURE OF GOVERNMENT ON SECURITY AS GUNMEN ABDUCT STUDENTS IN OYO AND BORNO STATES
The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN) expresses deep outrage and unequivocal condemnation over the disturbing abduction of scores of students by armed bandits in Ahoro Esinele, Orire Local Government Area of Oyo State and M***a village, Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State on Friday, 15th May 2026.
This latest tragedy further exposes the alarming deterioration of security across Nigeria and the apparent inability or unwillingness of governments at various levels to guarantee the safety of citizens, especially students whose only aspiration is to pursue education in peace.
MSSN finds it unacceptable that innocent Nigerian students continue to become easy targets for kidnappers, terrorists and criminal elements; while political actors appear more preoccupied with permutations, alignments and campaigns ahead of the 2027 general elections. The recurring attacks on schools and students suggest that the sanctity of human lives is increasingly being treated with levity by those entrusted with governance.
Nigeria cannot continue on this dangerous path where students leave their homes for learning but end up in captivity. Education should never become a death sentence or a gateway to abduction.
Saddeningly, MSSN also mourns the tragic death of a secondary school teacher; Mr Joel Adesiyan who reportedly lost his life during the terrorist attack on the Esinele, Oyo State School. The loss of an educator and school personnel in such a senseless act of violence is painful and unacceptable. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, colleagues, students and the entire family community.
We therefore call on the Federal Government, relevant security agencies and the governments of Oyo and Borno States to immediately mobilize every necessary resource toward securing the safe and unconditional release of all abducted students without harm.
Furthermore, MSSN urges political leaders across the country to redirect their energy from premature electoral calculations and focus on the urgent responsibility of governance, particularly the protection of lives and property. Leadership is measured by the safety and wellbeing of citizens, not by political ambitions.
The persistent failure to decisively tackle insecurity continues to erode public confidence and threatens the future of education in Nigeria. Nigerians deserve protection, students deserve safety, and families deserve peace.
MSSN stands in solidarity with the affected students, their families and communities during this difficult period and prays for the quick and safe return of all victims.

Sultan Sa'ad Abubakar influence extends into education, humanitarian relief and broader justice issues; reflecting the soft power he wields across Africa and beyond.

This recognition affirms the position of Sultan Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar's role as a moral compass and unifying figure not only in Nigeria but across the Muslim world.
