From Friction to Focus: Ending the daily screen time battles

04/06/2026

Some adults are still carrying childhood versions of themselves that only learned how to survive and never how to feel safe.

Healing is not about blaming the past for everything.
It’s about recognizing that some parts of you were shaped in survival mode β€” and learning that safety, rest, boundaries, trust, and softness are things you are allowed to experience now.

Sometimes the most important healing is teaching yourself that you no longer have to earn safety by overperforming, overgiving, or overprotecting yourself.

You are allowed to exist without constantly preparing for something bad to happen.

Make a deliberate decision to see the beauty around you today πŸ’

This πŸ‘†πŸ‘† is a message every adult needs to reflect on and evaluate constantly. The hypocrisy and masking up the past that portrays everything is alright endangers you the more.

This is where parenting gets tougher. Unhealed people bleeding on the people that did not cut them, AKA your child.

One of the major challenge of parenting in today's world is the access a child has to gadgets. ( Phones, tabs, TV, etc. How can parents navigate this, not just for young children, but even for teenagers and young adults?

How were they prepared for the internet world? What is happening now in your home? If you do nothing, something will be done by the gadgets they have access to and the damage can cause a life scare.

When children spend time , especially excessively or, unregulated hours "glued" to screens, the impact goes far beyond just a missed afternoon of playing outside.

Because a child’s brain and body are developing at an incredibly rapid pace, chronic overexposure to digital media alters how they think, feel, sleep, and interact.

Two days ago, as we returned from the boys conference we were together in my room gisting about our learnings from the event and just playing.

Casually , I told our 8yr old to answer some questions I have for him.

I wasn't surprised at all. Beyond the camera he explained a lot of his pains with how boys are treated in the Society. In his words, any small thing, "don't you know, you are a boy" using school experiences as examples.

These are part of what we have been teaching our Son's, to be first humans before gender.

To connect with their emotions and feel their feelings as it doesn't make them less a Man.

We have been teaching and still teaching them not to loose touch with their humaness, empathy and compassion, no matter how society sees them.

No masking up, no bottling up.

But then again, as he left my room,l laid down thinking through all he talked about.

This one aspect of raising boys we are not talking about is the reason men shut down or bottle up, because society have given them weights to carry for being a boy .( From start)

This is the foundation of what crumbled many men and in extreme cases lost their lives.

What do think? Listen to him😁

As much as we want our children to grow and develop into hardworking adults who can handle tasks, remember that working smart is the real great deal. However, how do you work smart if the child is unskilled?

The world is moving fast to skill economy. Proactively prepare your child for Life.

Here are some tips on what you can do with salt.
Which of them did you know, which have you tried and verified to be true?

For me, No.3 saved me at a point where I didn't know whether to scream, yell or jump out of the kitchen as the pepper dealt with me πŸ˜„
I do No.5 always πŸ‘

One goal I have consistently achieved each year in the past 4 years is being in a room that helps me dream without limitations and spur my growth.

Especially in MAY, since I usually have my first recollection of the year, on or before my birthday.

It either comes as a program, courses, conference, etc. but whatever way it comes, God uses it to transform me, give me clarity and direction.

Its been exactly two weeks today, precisely on the 4th of MAY, I joined the 365 days with pastor Sam Adeyemi , powered by success power and it's been nothing short of amazing. I have only word and name for that program πŸ‘‰ SHIFT.

This programme is seriously creating a mental eruption and shift that is unexplainable.
I am greatful for the opportunity to be in that room and till the next 365 days.

I can wait for all that God has prepared for me as I prepare to step into a New year.

Thank you so much Sir for being a blessing πŸ™πŸ»
