THE LAYERS OF EARTH’S ATMOSPHERE
The atmosphere of Earth is a carefully structured blanket of gases, arranged in layers that sustain and protect all forms of life:
Troposphere — The layer closest to Earth where weather patterns, clouds, and living organisms exist.
Stratosphere — Contains the ozone layer that absorbs harmful ultraviolet radiation from the sun.
Mesosphere — The protective zone where meteors disintegrate before reaching the ground.
Thermosphere — A high-energy region where auroras glow and some spacecraft orbit the planet.
Exosphere — The outermost boundary, gradually merging into outer space.
From the ground to the edge of space, each layer works in harmony to preserve life on Earth and maintain the delicate balance of our planet.

On July 31, 1971, American astronaut Dave Scott became the first astronaut to drive on the Moon.🧑🚀 Within the Apollo 15 mission, he drove the Lunar Roving Vehicle (the Rover) — during the entire mission, it was driven a total of about 27 kilometers.🚙 The total driving time was 3 hours and 2 minutes.
The Rover was made specifically for the Moon. The astronauts must be able to walk back to the Lunar Module in case of the vehicle fail at any time during the moonwalk, so the maximum range driven from the Lunar Module was about 5 kilometers.
The Apollo 15 Rover bore a plaque that reads: “Man’s First Wheels on the Moon, Delivered by Falcon, July 30, 1971”. Two more Lunar Rovers would make it to the Moon on Apollo Missions 16 and 17. All three rovers were left behind on the Moon and are still there today.🌕

Stretching 58 kilometers, it narrows to a mere 13 kilometers between Punta de Tarifa (Spain) and Punta Cires (Morocco), representing the closest proximity between Europe and Africa.
