JUST IN: KWASU Post-UTME Form Is Out

The Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has commenced registration for its 2026/2027 pre-admission screening exercise for candidates seeking admission through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE).

The registration exercise will run from July 18 to August 17, 2026.

The institution said candidates who selected KWASU as their first-choice university during the admission process are eligible to participate in the screening.

The university also invited candidates interested in studying at the institution but who did not initially choose it as their first choice to apply.

It added that such candidates must first effect a change of institution to KWASU on the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) portal before proceeding with the screening registration.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed 39-year-old computer engineering scholar, Professor Segun Aina from Obafemi Awolowo University, as the new Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

According to a statement by presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, on Thursday morning, Professor Aina, who will be 40 in July, is a distinguished academic and systems expert with extensive experience in national examination systems, digital infrastructure, and public-sector institutional reform.

He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Kent, an MSc in Internet Computing and Network Security, and a PhD in Digital Signal Processing, both from Loughborough University, United Kingdom.

The statement read that, “he has also completed the Senior Management Programme at Lagos Business School.

“A Professor of Computer Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Aina began his career with JAMB during his National Youth Service, gaining foundational experience in national admissions and data-driven institutional processes.

These insights have shaped his ongoing contributions to examination reform and systems optimisation.

“With over 15 years of post-graduation experience, Professor Aina operates at the intersection of technology, policy, and institutional transformation, advising federal and state governments on system design, digital transition, and operational reform. At 39, he became one of Nigeria’s youngest Computer Engineering professors and will now make history as JAMB’s youngest registrar.

He has served as a consultant to major examination bodies, including NECO, NABTEB, and various State Ministries of Education, providing expertise on ICT systems, examination integrity, and digital process optimisation.

“Professor Aina is a member of several professional bodies, including the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).”

Onanuga added that President Tinubu expected Professor Aina to bring to bear his vast experience, knowledge and practical insight into the operations of the Board, to take the critical educational organisation beyond the laudable heights achieved by his predecessor.

Al-Hikmah University Releases 2026/2027 Post UTME Form, Cut-off Marks

Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, has commenced sales of it admission screening for the 2026/2027 academic session and released approved Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board) UTME cut-off marks for its various programmes.

The institution said candidates seeking admission into medicine and surgery under the college of health sciences must score a minimum of 200 in the UTME to qualify for consideration.

The university fixed 190 as the cut-off mark for law programmes, including LL.B common law and LL.B common and Islamic law, as well as nursing science.

Al-Hikmah University also pegged medical laboratory science at 180 under the faculty of basic medical sciences.

According to the admission guideline released by the institution, most other programmes across faculties such as agriculture, management sciences, natural and applied sciences, humanities, social sciences, education, and computing have a minimum cut-off mark of 150.

Courses listed under the faculty of computing, engineering and technology include computer science, cyber security, information systems and software engineering.

The faculty of natural and applied sciences features programmes such as microbiology, industrial mathematics, petroleum chemistry, industrial chemistry, statistics, geology, biology and biochemistry.

Under the faculty of management sciences, the university offers accounting, economics, finance, marketing and business administration.

Programmes available in the faculty of humanities and social sciences include sociology and criminology, public administration, political science and conflict resolution, mass communication, English, Islamic studies, history and international relations, and library and information science.

The institution also listed several education-related programmes, including educational management, guidance and counselling, educational technology, business education, political science education, computer science education and Arabic education.

Al-Hikmah University said candidates seeking admission through direct entry must possess at least two points in A’Level examinations such as JUPEB, IJMB or NABTEB.

The institution added that applicants with national diploma qualifications are expected to have a minimum of lower credit, while holders of other diploma certificates and NCE qualifications must present at least merit grades.

JAMB Postpones Activation of 2026 Original UTME Result Printing Portal

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has explained the reason behind the delay in activating the portal for the printing of the 2026 UTME Original Result Slips.



According to the Board, the printing portal has not yet been activated because it recently concluded the conduct of foreign examinations and is currently making arrangements for the mop-up examination for candidates who were unable to participate in the main UTME through no fault of theirs.



In a statement issued by the Board’s Public Communication Adviser, Fabian Benjamin, candidates were urged to remain patient as necessary processes are still being finalized before the release of the slips.



JAMB emphasized that the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) is a ranking examination, noting that the Original Result Slip contains candidates’ national ranking and related performance details. Consequently, the Board stated that all pending processes must be completed before the slips can be made available for printing.



The Board assured candidates that once all necessary adjustments and procedures are concluded, the portal will be activated promptly and the public will be officially informed.



The development comes amid growing anticipation among admission seekers, as the Original Result Slip remains one of the key documents required for Post-UTME registration, screening exercises, and admission processing across tertiary institutions nationwide.

JAMB activates change of institution portal, begins printing of original UTME result slips

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says candidates seeking to change their institution or course selection can now begin the process at approved computer-based test (CBT) centres nationwide.

Fabian Benjamin, JAMB spokesperson, disclosed this in a statement on Friday.

The examination body advised applicants intending to make adjustments to their preferred institutions or programmes to visit any accredited CBT centre for the exercise.

"Candidates wishing to change their institution or programme of choice may now proceed to do so visiting any of the Board’s approved CBT," the statement reads.

"Applicants are advised to visit any accredited CBT centre to effect the changes.

JAMB also announced that the printing of the original 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result slip will commence on Monday, May 18, 2026.
