JAMB RELEASES 279 UTME RESULTS PREVIOUSLY HELD FOR INVESTIGATION

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released 279 results from those previously held for further investigation. This is in addition to the results earlier released by the Board.

The printing of the 2026 UTME Original Result Slip has not yet been activated. Candidates are kindly urged to be patient as the Board has just concluded the foreign examinations and is also preparing to conduct the mop-up

*2026 JAMB Admission Policy Meeting: Key Resolutions and Highlights*

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced major resolutions following the 2026 Admission Policy Meeting.

Key decisions reached at the meeting include:

• The minimum admissible score for Universities has been fixed at 150.
• Colleges of Nursing will also admit candidates from a minimum score of 150.
• The minimum score for admission into Polytechnics has been set at 100.
• Institutions are prohibited from admitting candidates beyond their approved quotas.
• Candidates offered admission are required to accept the offer within four (4) weeks.

*Admission Deadlines:*
• Public Universities – October 31, 2026
• Polytechnics – November 30, 2026
• Monotechnics and Colleges of Education – December 31, 2026

*Further resolutions and updates:*
• The Change of Course/Institution portal will be activated after the mop-up examination.
• Uploading of O’Level results will continue within the approved timelines.
• Institutions are expected to commence Post-UTME registration and screening announcements immediately after the policy meeting.

In addition, the University of Jos emerged as the highest beneficiary at the 6th NATAP-M Awards, receiving a grant of ₦500 million.

*Important Notice:*
While JAMB has fixed the general minimum cut-off mark for Universities at 150, individual institutions retain the authority to set higher benchmarks in line with their academic standards and competitiveness.

*Examples of institutional benchmarks:*
• Lagos State University (LASU) – 195
• University of Ibadan (UI) – 200
• Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) – 200
• University of Benin (UNIBEN) – 200
• University of Lagos (UNILAG) – Above the JAMB minimum benchmark

Institutions currently accepting candidates with scores from 150 and above include:
• Abdulrazaq Abubakar Toyin University
• Al-Hikmah University
• University of Offa
• Kwara State University of Education
• Several other private universities

Kwara State Polytechnic accepts candidates with scores from 120 upward; however, applicants with scores above 150 are generally given higher consideration during the admission process.

Candidates applying for Education programmes and non-Engineering Agriculture courses are now exempted from writing UTME.
