PUBLIC HOLIDAY - NEW ISLAMIC YEAR

Dear All,

This is to inform the University Community that, the Kwara State Government has declared Tuesday, 16 June, 2026 as public holiday to commemorate the first day of the Islamic lunar calendar (Muharram 1448 AH).

In view of this, all staff are directed to observe the holiday. Please note that those on essential services are to be at their duty posts, while the University will consider giving days off as appropriate.

The University Management enjoins all members of the University Community, especially our Muslim brothers and sisters, to use this period to reflect on, and imbibe the virtues of tolerance and mutual respect.

🇳🇬 Happy Day, KWASUites!

Today, we celebrate the enduring strength of democracy and the power of every voice to shape the future.

As a Students' Union, we recognize that true democracy thrives when people are informed, engaged, and actively involved in the decisions that affect them. This same principle guides our commitment to representing, serving, and amplifying the voices of all KWASUites.

May this day remind us of our collective responsibility to promote unity, accountability, justice, and active participation in building the community we desire.

Happy Day!
